In today's climate, no way this is true. Even if family member said it was a misunderstanding and refuses to press charges. If there is video, he is done.

There is zero chance Texas retains Beard if there's an ounce of truth to this (and rightfully so). He committed a felony.
Even if Texas wanted to retain him (trust me, the fans and admin don't), I don't think they'd have a choice in the matter as I don't think he'd be very effective in Huntsville Penitentiary

Let all the facts come out before rushing to judgment but it's a terrible look

No chance. Unless some massively exculpatory evidence comes out that changes the picture entirely, he's done coaching at Texas, and probably done coaching altogether.
