That's not a fair assessment of the Butch Jones tenure. Jones shite the bed with recruiting classes that recruited themselves with legacy rich talent. Player development was also non existent.
Furthermore, those 9 wins would've never happened if Joshua Dobbs wasn't the quarterback.
Jones was in over his head from the beginning and would've benefited himself by staying with Colorado instead buying into Dollar Store Dave Hart's sales pitch to come to Tennessee.

This would be very fitting for post-1998 Tennessee. They finally seem like they are getting their shite together and have a solid team, so it's time to hire a big name guy who has never coached at the college level before to come demolish the progress.
