Byrne was running the U of A Athletic department here in AZ and we had scandal after scandal along with some bad hires by him. He falls UP to Bama and more scandals break out at here in Tucson that happened under his watch, and then they start up at BAMA that are even worst.
Yet, he is employed and apparently not even taking a hit. Absolutely dumbfounded that he can have all this shite bounce off of him. He needs to run for an elected office because he obviously has what it takes to make it as a politician.

I agree. Everyone loves the guy but this year has been an embarrassment. Burton punching women, the basketball bullshite and now baseball firing a coach for possibly being involved in a gambling scandal.
Trolls should have their fun with this because it’s all been a sad shitshow to watch.

You do have to wonder after the basketball mess and its disastrous handling coupled with this gambling scandal if he's going to be under pressure. Some pretty bad looks as of late.

It has not gone unnoticed. It has been scandal after scandal this academic year. He has to be on thin ice himself. He’s the CEO. There’s a culture issue right now.

All of this and he can turn around and bitch about fans on the field with a straight face. Bama fans should be more embarrassed of him than we were of FKing/Alleva

In 2020 he was gaslighting people for "gathering". To save his job but ultimately cost jobs of numerous individuals in that department.
He's not quite the savant many State fans make him out to be and I'm quite frankly wasn't impressed with him the time I was in Tuscaloosa.
Not sure I would trust him to make the Saban replacement hire right either.

He clearly does all the modern AD stuff well (politic, fundraise, public appearances) but his time at Arizona and Alabama has been pretty lackluster in terms of running a tight shite within the Organization.
I'm pretty fed up with the continuous embarrassments of the athletics department at this point, and I'm guessing a lot of other alums are as well.
