Greg and Spears' new show is cringeworthy to say the least

Caught my first glimpse of it yesterday and....jeez. Hearing McElroy try to sound remotely "hip" or "cool" just doesn't work out. Glad the dude has his own show and everything but watching Spongebob talk about sports and cut up with someone like Spears keeps me laughing too hard to even pay attention half the time. I almost feel bad for Marcus cause the dude is a pretty solid as far as football analysis and debate goes.

Anyone seen it? What do you guys think?

McElroy should have gone into coaching.

I feel like every CFB show out there is trying too hard.

I don't think it's that bad but I've only seen a little bit of it. Maybe 10-20 minutes

This. And all the other sports talk shows and game day panels in any sport. They don't know any more than you or I, just are good at talking and having a hot chick on board.

McElroy is usually spot on. He's extremely dorkish but I'll take that over 99% of the clowns out of there like Cowherd or Screamin A, etc.

Spears is solid, too. I think their dynamic is fine, it might take a minute for the chemistry to gel.

I like both of them individually, but I agree that the show is awkward at best right now. I couldn't watch but a few minutes. However, I suppose it's better than another replay.

I can't see McElroy coaching. I always saw him as a front office guy, but I think he's pretty good as an analyst and getting better. I think he's got a big future in that business (although maybe not as a show host).

I kind of like it. Spears laughs at a too many unfunny things though. I really like it when they talk Xs and Os especially when Spears talks defensive technique.

It's fine. It may be a little tacky but he's smarter than 95% of the football analysts out there. To be honest as tacky as it is it's better than most shows on cable.

It's not a good show. I don't think whoever "produces" these shows actually has ever produced a real show.

The host need to be themselves. Stop with the forced I'm hip shite. If GM is a dork, be the dork. And let ME play off of that. Or whatever but it's obvious they are trying to be something they are not. That's step one. The content and all that shite is the easy part. Its the chemistry between them that will make or break the show

I'd much rather see them do a "film room" review show. Maybe go back and break down one or two of the big games from the previous week. To me that's a more interesting show. But I may be in the minority about that.

Yeah... more film review shows would be cool to me as well, but I think they get awful ratings.

I've only seen it once, yesterday. Thought it was ok for the most part. Maybe it'll improve some. Mullen was good -- funny.

That show is as bad as it gets. First week, LSU's victory over BYU finally is mentioned and I said to myself OK here we go. Then what did they do? They showed all that coach O imitation nonsense again and pretended it was funny while pissing off every Cajun in LA. Then last night they didn't even mention LSU at all. It was as if LSU didn't even exist. They gave grades to the top five quarterbacks from the games last Saturday night and Etling's performance is completely ignored. I'm never watching that garbage ever again. I have better things to do. Screw them.

I don't watch the talk shows on ESPN very much any more, and am not likely to start any time soon. They too frequently cut away to Paul Finebaum and now there's a got-damned commercial with an animated version of him. No talk show could possibly be good enough for me to sit through hearing that piece of garbage talk for even a couple of seconds. It's risky enough watching a live broadcast of a game and possibly not being able to change the channel fast enough when he or his commercial come on; I'm sure as hell not taking that chance for a fricking talk show.
