Not necessarily. Some scientists theorize that before the big bang, an alternate universe existed that imploded on itself, which led to the big bang at the beginning of our own universe. Under this theory, our own universe will ultimately implode on itself which in turn will create yet another whole new universe.
Point being, there's no way of knowing that Mizzou didn't reach the final four in the previous universe.
