Gather 'round fellow rantards, it's that time of the year again...when we come together to recount the beloved tale of the 2012 Cotton Bowl or as I like to call it;
The Rustledist of Jimmies.
Six years ago this week, Arkansas and Kansas State fans were sizing each other up in preparation for the 2012 Cotton Bowl. Arkansas was coming off a 10 win season, a third place SECw finish, and going in to the bowl season ranked #7 in the country with Bobby Petrino looking to close his fourth campaign with a big win. Opposing them, living fossil and probable wizard, Bill Snyder led a top 20 Wildcat team that had just finished second in the Big XII and was on the hunt for a bowl victory to add an exclamation point to his 20th season at the university.
It was in this world that the artists at goemaw.com crafted a one-of-the-kind masterpiece in the art of sports trolling titled does playing Arkansas hurt the image of our program. At 207 pages, 5000+ replies, and 499382 views, the piece is highly venerated in the shite-posting community.
The opening salvo:
Hogville soon picked it up:

...and bit hard
it was noticed by many other fanbases and even reported on the news in NWA...
...and it just went on and on and on.
So what happened in the bowl?
Arkansas defeated K-State 29-16 and finished the season ranked #5 in the nation at 11-2.
It would be Petrino's last game as head coach of Arkansas. The Hogs have had losing records 3 of the last 6 seasons and have never posted more than 8 wins. It was a watershed moment for the flagship university of the Natural State and the Razorbacks have never been the same since.
K-State won the Big XII the next year...and the rest is history, but a lesson to us, on the power of shite posting. Never doubt your power.
Until next year.

Oh great. This will only reaffirm our reputation on scheduling cupcakes. ridiculous.

Arkansas is one of those old SWC teams that we didn't let in the Big12, right?

I think playing a school that's so outlandishly racist will certainly hurt our crystal clear image of a program. I mean, do black people even have rights there? Or jobs? Mizzou will fit in perfectly with those guys. Getting rid of them was definitely good for us.

I remember that well. The thread was long and I read it all. Gotta hand it to KSU fans, because they are creative.
Arkansas beat K-State again in the 2016 Liberty Bowl, so you may be reaching a little here.

The main thing I remember about that "troll" was them talking shite about a kid on our team who died of sudden heart failure.
Terrible fanbase. frick K-State.

I hate that hogville is known as the main Arkansas message board.
