Nix is a very innaccurate and jumpy QB. A lot of times he thought he was under pressure and darted a wild pass 3 yards off the mark.

I think in the mind of a football strategist there is no reason to use blitzes to rattle an inaccurate quarterback. Furthermore, no freshman qb is seasoned enough to audible halfway through their first season, especially in an environment like the swamp.
UF will be blitzing Saturday. They will get some sacks and TFL. But, Burrow will also be changing plays and throwing dimes and making UF pay. UF has a garbage offense and must have turnovers to manufacture points.

But I listened to his press conference and he said himself that Nix only looks at half the field and burrow goes to 3 and 4th reads sometimes. Lsu needs to stay out of 3rd and longs.

Gus absolutely refuses to implement a short or quick passing game to utilize the middle of the field. Gus was down by 11 pts with 9 minuted left and he was calling slow developing plays. WTH? Auburn was in short yardage situations a lot and never once did he utilize Gatewood?

Well yea. But against a lesser D it may not result in a turnover. Against flordia those chances increase just due to better athletes than most schools

My point was more that UF has not played a qb that can audible. But their D is elite blah blah blah.

I think your front 4 is good enough pass rushing that even Grantham doesn't want to Blitz.
If you can get pressure with 4 your always better off dropping 8 into coverage.

Didn’t need to blitz. Gators were getting enough with the front four. They confused the hell outta him with coverages.

I think he will get burned if he blitzes with our quick passing game and wide receivers yards after catch. I sure they will get to Burrow a few times but will also get burned a few times by quick release and run after catch.

outside WR motions to the slot. Burrow fakes the handoff, Grantham is running a safety blitz, man coverage. CB and LBer get confused on coverage. Lsu throws deep corner route short side of field for TD. This will be the first play from LSU offense.
