This is how I see Ole Miss, which will make a bad team to be a fan of but a spoiler in the SEC. How would you rate your teams?

Offense A
The only question mark is RB, but reports from the practice field have praise about Scottie Philips.

Defense D
The secondary and DL should be alright. Our big problem is the lack of LBs.

Special Teams C
I would grade this as a B last year. We had to replace both kicker and punter, so I am just guessing a C.

Passing offense... sure

However, we have been completely one dimensional at times. Need to find better balance with the run.

It was pretty balanced last year. Our O-Line and passing game should be able to open the running game up for any serviceable back. I stick with my A grade.

Offense C
Running game should be good and deep at TE, but OL is an enormous concern and not settled on a QB yet. Still think Morris is a really good offensive mind so shouldn't be awful.

Defense C
A lot of experience but they were really bad the last two years. New scheme should help. Best CB is back after missing last year with an injury. Two 100+ tacklers returning at LB.

Special Teams D
Feel good about kick returner with De'Vion Warren, but everything else is a big question mark. Bielema's special teams were terrible.

Offense B

The offensive line and running backs have a lot of talent, but not much combined experience. Still, the potential is there to be above average at both position groups. The return of Stidham and a quality receiver corps should take the passing game up a notch.

Defense A

The front seven will be one of the best groups in the SEC, and the secondary should be solid despite the loss of both starting safeties and Carlton Davis at CB.

Special Teams B

This group has the potential to rate as an A, but there's no game experience to go on. Anders Carlson will be a four-year starter at kicker and could challenge Legatron's school and SEC records before it's all said and done. And the Aussie Arryn Siposs can boot the hell out of the ball, so Auburn should upgrade there.

LSU

Offense: ???
Could be an A or could be a D. No one knows at this point

Defense: A
Stacked front 7 and a shutdown corner on one side. LB depth is deeeeep.

Special Teams: B
Only because of the addition of Cole Tracy and an actual SC coach

I dont think you can give your offense an A if you are currently one dimensional. Maybe a B+ just became AJ Moore and Metcalf are really damn good

Offense B ... could be better, depends upon how this new 7 seconds per play offense works out. We look solid everywhere on the O side of the ball in terms of personnel, but man oh man this new offense moves fast. I hope we're up to it mentally as much as physically. Thank gosh for depth.

Defense C+ ... but will exponentially improve as the season progresses, particularly in the secondary. A lot of returning talent along the line and at LB, but young talented depth abounds.

Special Teams A ... I just feel a great ST season coming-on. Maybe the best punter in the league, if not the country. Return teams should be solid, especially with Deebo returning. Kick off will be exceptional because you cannot return what you can't field. FGs are where the questions lay - we're good inside 40, it's beyond that where we'll hold our breath. Last year got old seeing wide rights from 55 sailing into the upper decks. Legs were not the problem ... accuracy is where we failed with the youngins.

Offense B+: Need WR's to step up this year

Defense A-: CB position is the only "weakness"

Special Teams B: FG and Kickoffs have been solid. Need to establish a return man.

Offense : C ---- QB battle, no proven receivers, underachieving OL, bad coordinator

Defense : C ---- lost everyone to draft, no secondary, thin DL, recruiter only coordinator

Special Teams : D ---- Can't ever kick FG, best punter gone

How could Saban have let the program slide so far, so fast? Sad!

He should really delegate that responsibility to someone on staff. Would have been the perfect job for Freeze if he wasn't blacklisted from the conference.

Thanks to all that answered seriously. It's nice to have a decent discussion from time to time.

Offense: B

Until we see what we have at RB and how the OL performs, can't bump the offense up too much.

Defense: A

One of the best defenses in college football.

Special Teams: A

Daniel Carlson's little bro is living up to the billing and our Aussie punter gives us a clear step up from last year.

Offense is a B+

Defense is an F. No debate about it
