It will remain to be seen if it bears fruit, but you got a good coach. It's an educated guessing game and I bet you could have done a whole lot worse.

It checks off just about every single box on paper. We’ll see if it works out on the field. I’m optimistic.

Coach Kelly’s warm and engaging personality will help him win and influence people in Baton Rouge. But he is an upgrade, no doubt. Time will tell. I would have preferred a young up-and-comer for the long haul…but maybe there isn’t such a thing today…

It’s a Great hire!

LSU just landed one of the best coaches in CFB.

LSU needed a solid AF coach and got exactly that!

Great recruiter / Great discipline / Great developer /Players love him

Absolutely....Kelly may not be a HR hire, but he is a helluva lot better than the last 2 hires LSU made.

There are very few sure things in the coach picking business. Timing and luck are variables. BK is an inspired, top tier get. Props to the LSU deal team.

The SEC West is the college football equivalent of the Spanish Inquisition.

It was. And we didn’t overpay. Not that I care. Pretty solid process after probably losing out on our top target.

Yep. Saban is the only “risk free” coach in the country and he isn’t going anywhere. If I were an LSU fan I would have preferred a younger guy, but BK is extremely low risk with a high ceiling. Worst case scenario is recruiting maintained and a lot of wins without being able to get over the hump. Only time will tell if the big game blowouts were coaching or talent/competition gap.

I think recruiting was the only ding on him if you go buy the usual metrics. The ND classes usually finished anywhere from 10-20 with the big exception of this year where they will crank a top 10 class by the last signing day. That makes him an even better developer I would suppose.

Good hire. The days of the Ed Orgeron humiliation comedy were fun to watch but we all knew they would would never last.

Sure, but with academic standards at ND, they will never land the WR/DB/LB/DL 4-5* that LSU/Alabama/UGA/OSU/Clemson gets yearly.

Exactly

Great developer of talent and the ability to land those 4/5*…

Yeah who knows if it works out and we win a championship. But it won't be because he isn't qualified.
