LSU and Vandy are LOCKS for hosts and national seeds

Which of these 3 teams have the best chance to host?

Arkansas 35-19 (1&-11) RPI 46 SOS 68
South Carolina 40-16 (17-12) RPI 12 SOS 21
Mississippi State 40-16 (16-14) RPI 10 SOS 5

State hosts South Carolina this week.
Arkansas goes to Auburn.

Could the SEC only get 3 regional hosts?

I will update these numbers throughout the weekend.

Y'all are so lucky you won today or your chances would have been dead.

I think USCe has the best chance to host at this point. Mississippi State has lost too many series this year and Arky's RPI is really low. However, I think the SEC gets 4 hosts this year for sure.

Auburn is on a hot streak and I could see them taking 2 from Arky. There is a lot of possible scenarios here.

If Arky sweeps they host. If they take 2/3 it may depend on the outcome of MSU/USC.

Arky loses series they don't host.

If State wins 2/3 we could still host with a 16-14 record and 40 overall wins. A couple wins in the SEC tourney would solidify it. IF we lose the series we don't host. If we sweep USC we are a lock.

USC will likely host barring they don't get swept by us (they won't).

State needs Arkansas to lose and we have to take 2/3 from USC. I think the 4th host spot is between us and them. Doubt we get 5 hosts but that is possible also.

A side note on South Carolina's 16 SEC wins

8 of them came from cellar dwellers UGA, Tennessee, and Mizzou

I think Arkansas has to sweep to be in consideration.

I think 2/3 gets us consideration. We had bad loses but have only lost 2 SEC series. Also, we have a better road record in the SEC than we do a home record so don't put all your pennies into us doing bad this weekend.

Y'all mention series wins a lot, does the committee look at that more than overall wins, RPI, SOS, top 50 wins, Road wins?

Nope but I do know that no team with an RPI over 30 has hosted in the past 7 years.

They take in to consideration RPI, SOS, and conference record. 19 or 20 Conference wins usually wins the division. It would be tough to leave Arkansas out with that many conference wins.

Well just try not to lose your 6th out of 10 SEC series this weekend and maybe you'll host.

Winning 2/3 @Auburn makes us 19-10 and 3rd in the SEC. We swept USCe and took 2/3 from MSU.
I think that, along with how hot we are ending the season, puts us in a hosting spot.

I wouldn't call losing to Tennessee this past Friday being "HOT" that loss killed your RPI
