Gimmick plays shows Les isn't as good as Saban

Resorting to trickery instead of just doing what worked. He didn't have faith and he was scared to win. Saban was going for blood not moral victories. That's why Bama will win 3 in 4.

So was Saban not as good as Miles last year when he ran gimmick plays?

You say trickery I say team confidence.

Not getting those plays puts you in a shite position, but he believed his players were able to compensate. They did.

Had any of those plays gone the other way Les Miles would be being called a fricking genius right now.

I think it was the opposite of scared to win. The funny thing is, had he not tried those, LSU probably wins. The onside kick was the only thing I was ok with. 4th and 1 and fake FG were horrible

Saban is a better coach than Miles hands down...but they are both better than Muschamp.

Actually you could argue that if we don't attempt any trick plays we win the game. Does that make him better than Saban? His team certainly looked more prepared.

The onsides was a good call

The fake fg was the dumbest call I've ever seen les make

And that's saying something

Saban panicked last year and his team lost.

Miles panicked this year and his team lost.

The Bama/ Texas game is being shown on ESPN classics and Bama's fake punt is being replayed as we speak

LSU May not have won the game but Les and the Tigers had a better game plan the Mighty saban and bama coaching staff.

Les has always called a lot of trick plays though. It isn't like he suddenly went from over the top conservative to trying to emulate Boise last night. That's just his thing.

Hell...last night was one of the first close games in a while that Saban hasn't called any sort of trick play.

Why Les called a Fake FG. I have no clue. Before the play snap, I could tell that we were covering the fake and not the actual kick. Brad Wing should've just called a TO or change it at the LOS.

EVERYONE except Les, saw that. I think.

Onside kick was terrible.

It didn't end up hurting us because they got a fumble. But the risk/reward isn't there. If we get it, we still have to drive 60 yards if we want to take the lead. If we don't, we kill a lot of our momentum. We're a defensive team. Kick it deep, let them play offense in front of the student section, then they'll punt it back to you and you'll get it at the 40 anyway.

At this point in their careers they are. Put them in the mess he had to clean up at his current age and only Saban succeeds. Les piggy backed off Saban.
