There has been somewhat significant clamoring throughout our fanbase in recent years to do this. We don't get anything out of playing Ga Tech anymore. Our two programs are moving in vastly different directions. The only part of our fanbase that still cares about Tech are the over 50 old timers. We are already receiving criticism for how weak our schedule is next year, and this move would ensure that nobody ever challenges our schedule again. It would be a great game from a ratings standpoint and it would provide a much clearer picture for the college football playoff committee. Clemson would also gladly move the South Carolina game to the middle of the season, similar to when Michigan plays Michigan St, to make room for us. Let's improve college football by renewing a great rivalry.

Growing up and living in Atlanta., it always seemed like a contrived "rivalry" anyways.

I think Florida should drop Tennessee and Georgia and replace them with Auburn and Alabama. It would be a lot closer of a rivalry than our current records against you 2 since 1990.

The South Carolina legislature would sooner cut funding to Clemson and the University of South Carolina than move that game to the middle of the season to accommodate UGA.

Didn't South Carolina and Clemson use to play during the middle of the season?

Y'all should've voted against adding another SEC game back in 87 like we did. That's what stopped the annual series.

Funny how Gator fans cling to the idea that college football began in the 90s. Who owns the series record?

Nobody gives a shite about the South Carolina legislature. Everyone would watch that game and the recruiting impact it would have for top Georgia high school football players would be enormous.

We played on Big Thursday during the State Fair until 1959. That was usually in October, but I believe teams played less games back then and it was towards the end of the season.

And you lost to Troy in 2017. What's your point? Maybe LSU should play Tulane every year during rivalry week. Would y'all benefit from that?

Except the public university in South Carolina you now want to play annually as your end-of-year rival, the same university that is dependent upon the SC General Assembly for its funding.

Uh, I'm pretty sure both Clemson and South Carolina do since that's why they both play an in-state FCS program annually...

Understand what you're saying. Clemson would be forced to play South Carolina and UGA the same season every year. That not only would change the date of one of the longest-standing rivalries in the country, it also limits Clemson's ability to play in-state teams like Wofford Coastal Carolina and Furman, as they would essentially only have 2 open dates per year. These smaller schools depend on that money.
