From Forbes

quote:

Although Notre Dame’s Sept. 21 visit to Georgia is still four months away, the game is already shaping up as an all-timer from a demand standpoint. No game on the 2019 college football schedule is fetching a higher ticket price on the secondary market than the Fighting Irish’s first-ever trip to Sanford Stadium.

quote:

The cheapest seats available on VividSeats.com on Tuesday evening ran a cool $407, and that was to sit in the 600 level in the upper reaches of the 92,746-seat stadium. That asking price was $130 more than that for the next-closest game – the cheapest seats for Alabama at Auburn were $277 – and yet some sellers are asking far more for their tickets to see the Bulldogs host the Golden Domers. Of the 273 individual seats or sets of tickets for sale on Vivid Seats’ site Tuesday, 115 sellers (or 42%) were asking for $1,000 or more per seat.

quote:

Ticket demand for their 2017 game in South Bend was also through the roof. Less than a month before that game, the Indianapolis Business Journal cited data from ticket broker TickPick showing that the average price for that game was $1,655 per seat on the secondary market, largely driven by the UGA fans who traveled north in droves to see their team’s first game at historic Notre Dame Stadium.

Good God. I’ve never payed $400 for a ticket to anything, let alone a home game.

What’s the most you’ve ever shelled out for a ticket, ball game or otherwise?

Seems odd for what will be a huge blowout.

No, I want to make it to the 4th quarter.

Beverages will be consumed, though.

I have a feeling LSU-Texas is going to give that a nice run, which I’m dreading. I’m sure it’ll cost me an arm and leg to get to the lower bowl

It’ll need to pick up quite a bit and have UGA-ND drop off a little.

Right now (again, according to Forbes) that game is 6th with the cheapest ticket being $229.

Sounds like a good time to buy if you’re dreading high prices.

No those cheap tickets are in a terrible part of the stadium. To me I would pay maybe 50 for those seats and they are listed a little above 200.

Why are Georgia fans so gullible? ND is a relic of a program and hasn't won anything in Decades. Kinda like you guys.

Playing ND was a big deal in 1977. In 2019? Not so much.

$1500 to watch the Saints win the Super Bowl. Worth every penny.

Over a grand for national title tickets twice. For a regular season game prob never over 200 but I do have season tickets and we got all my grandfathers points when he transferred the tickets to us so we can usually get tickets through LSU at face value. I did pay a lot for Grizzlies WCF tickets several years back

Are they expecting the Notre Dame fans to come out of the woodworks or is this mostly UGA fans driving this?

BoozeDawg who is still stuck in the 1970's apparently thinking playing ND is a big deal. It isn't. They have been blown out in every meaningful game BCS/CFP they have played in. The average score in those games is like 38-6 or something like that. ND is a has been living off a name from the 60's and 70's.
