Georgia is SEC's highest-rated team in PFF Top 25 for 2020

“Most publications have rolled out their way-too-early top 25 for the 2020 college football season with Georgia ranked as high as No. 2 and as low as No. 13. These publications will adjust their rankings several times before the official preseason rankings come out this summer. On Tuesday, Pro Football Focus provided its own initial top 25, taking its own wins above average system, ELO rankings, and incoming talent into consideration.
Georgia came in at No. 3, behind Ohio State and Clemson. The outlet writes of the Dawgs:
As of now, the SEC is running through the Georgia Bulldogs. They return the second most WAA among non-quarterbacks as a team, with Eric Stokes and George Pickens leading the way. And they were fortunate enough to land the biggest graduate transfer of this offseason in Jamie Newman. During Newman’s 2019 season at Wake Forest, he displayed traits that Jake Fromm couldn’t touch — such as tight-window accuracy and effective deep passing — while displaying far superior athleticism. His tight-window passing grade and deep-passing grade (20-plus yards) both were second to only Joe Burrow this season. That’s pretty good company. Getting him out of Wake Forest's up-tempo, RPO system will allow Newman to do what he does best — beat defenses with his arm instead of his legs.
While Georgia lost five offensive starters to the 2020 NFL Draft in quarterback Jake Fromm, running back D’Andre Swift, offensive linemen Andrew Thomas, Isaiah Wilson, and Solomon Kindley, and a sixth to transfer in offensive lineman Cade Mays, the Bulldogs have a chance to field a more exciting offense this fall after the arrival of Wake Forest quarterback transfer Jamie Newman. Newman threw for 2,868 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushed for 574 yards with the Demon Deacons in 2019 and adds the mobility that Kirby Smart has coveted at the position since his arrival.
Smart has also brought in Todd Monken from the NFL to be the new offensive coordinator and recently hired away Buster Faulkner from Southern Miss. Adding two coaches with experience in explosive offenses to a roster still teeming with talent, like running backs Zamir White and James Cook, wide receiver George Pickens and Georgia figures to once again contend for the SEC Championship and College Football Playoff. The Dawgs' defense returns plenty of experience, including defensive linemen Jordan Davis and Malik Herring, edge rusher Azeez Ojulari, inside linebacker Monty Rice, cornerback Eric Stokes, and safety Richard LeCounte.
Looking to the rest of the SEC and Georgia's 2020 opponents, Alabama came in at No. 5, Florida came in at No. 19, and Auburn came in at no. 20 in the Pro Football Focus Top 25.”

Sure, but the higher ranking means it’ll be a bigger letdown.

LSU has won 3 titles and played for 4 since UGA last won a title.
UGA has played for a title once in the last 39 years.

To be fair the 2012 and 2019 SECCG's were also the NC game those years, in which we participated, which would give us three appearances since 1980.
