Georgia fans, was UGA close to recruiting Trevor Lawrence?

Richt botched it. He went to one of our camps as a sophomore and he was ignored while they paid more attention to others. Kirby tried but he was enamored with Clemson and their offense.

Saban wanted him real bad but Trevor told him he couldn’t go to Bama because the had Tua many injuries to their quarterbacks

Aren't Fields & TLaw in the same Recruiting class out of HS
You got Fields and proceeded to screw that up
There was no way to sign them both, so it's a moot point
There were two 5* GA HS QBs in the class and you got one, and then rigged the competition so that a game mgr would win the starting Job
I hope the 3 yrs that Fromm gave you is worth the damage that Kerby-Kurby-Kirby did to your Program's reputation among elite HS QBs

That is two great QBs Tennessee lost to Clemson because of bonehead coaches.
Tajh Boyd was committed to Tennessee. Lane Kiffin told him that that he (Boyd) didn't fit his system.

Yes it was the same class
Fields was committed to Penn State and UGA thought they were getting Lawrence. Field decommitted and UGA still thought they were getting Lawrence.
Lawrence committed to Clemson over UGA in December 2016, and Fields committed to UGA over FSU October 2017

Don't get mad at me cause you guys shafted Fields and are now the laughingstock among HS Recruits & Coaches in GA for throwing away a Heisman Finalist and future 1st Round draft pick at QB
No one throws away 1st round QBs unless you have 1 left over like Ohio State with Haskins
Kirbee-Kirby-Kurbee-Kurbi-Kerby-Kerbee looks like an idiot among the HS Recruits & Coaches in GA, maybe the entire SE USA
