The stadium has a very gradual slope to it, so the fans sit a long way from the field. It's also built down in the ground, so walking up to the stadium, it doesn't look very tall. It's a pretty bland stadium if you are there for an average game, but big time bowls have much more pageantry that make it unique.

We took the train into Pasadena. We stayed in Santa Monica across from beach then drove to train station. Was easy for us
In spite of being a liberal shithole, Cali has some really beautiful areas.. Loved Santa Monica and if I could afford to live in a 2-3 million dollar home in a gated community, I'd move back in a heartbeat..

It was almost a surreal experience to be in “The Granddaddy”. The atmosphere around Pasadena that week was awesome and the game....well everyone knows about the game. What struck me was how quiet all fans were after the trophy was awarded. It was as if everyone was just too exhausted to show anymore emotion. And I really felt sorry for OU fans, thinking no one should have lost that game.
Georgia was the best team in college football that year.

Yep, and if your seats are between the 20 yard lines, you need to be about 20 rows up or you can't see squat.

Very long bathroom & concession lines that cause a lot of bottlenecking / congestion in the main walkway areas and expensive beers.
This.
If you go for a sold out game and want to hit the bathroom or get a coke at halftime you aren’t making it back in time for kickoff.

Goalline north east side 1/3 the way up by a tunnel. was fine.
For a ucla game, I could see how it would suck but for the rose it's like a home big-time sec game.

It was just....perfect. One of the best parts was buying tickets for the official UGA pregame on the golf course. $125 for all you could drink alcohol, all you could eat Chick fil A and Krispy Kreme (among other things). Before walking over to the stadium some guy at the pregame shared some of his joint which I hit a few times. Walking into the stadium a little high and buzzed was magical. The mountains, the sound of the bands in the background, the anticipation of the big game all equaled college football heaven. Then the game. It was just wild. The 50/50 split end zone to end zone was fun, and you could feel the momentum shift for every big moment of the game. The way the game ended I wouldn’t trade anything in the world for that experience. Looking back there was no place at all across the globe I’d have rather been on Jan 1, 2018 than at the Rose Bowl. Highly recommend going if you get the opportunity

the Cotton Bowl is in the hood,
They should rename it to something more 2021 appropriate due to this.

When you say “the golf course”, do you mean the high school area near the stadium where the UGA Alum party was? That’s where we were and it was awesome.

I think it was hosted by the UGA athletic association. It was definitely on the golf course behind the merchandise tents.
