This is how you bring value as an outsider. A little humor is good.
I like a few of the "other conference" posters most of the time. Clemson makes 100% sense, not sure why the Horns are here though.

To me this is a much more interesting question than the one originally posited in the OP.
On the web, if you build it, they will come. At the very least, you have a bunch of SEC teams who compete on the field and in recruiting against lots of other non-SEC teams. Heck, Stanford raids Georgia now and then for recruits.
Why in the world would it bother someone to scroll through posts about other schools that more often not have some kind of bearing or effect on SEC results or recruiting?
Or better yet, why would it bother someone to have to deal with anyone coming to an open web site. About anything?

I would say Texas fans are here for the LSU matchup , but a lot have been here before then.
Maybe because Aggie joined?

Why are certain posters that claim allegiance to non-SEC schools on an exclusively SEC forum? I am genuinely curious as to why you are wasting hours discussing a conference in which you don't play. Please try and defend your position, this should be entertaining.
I'm a college football fan. The best college football is in the south. Tigerdroppings not only has a great college football section, but politics, movies, food, other sports, is also well represented.

You're reading too much into a light hearted joke dude. Dont take shite so seriously

Because the SEC is the center of the college football universe and they want to belong.
First part, I would make a slight correction and say it's the epicenter.
The second part, no way. At least not for either of my schools.
(I've said it on this board before -- I'd love for LSU and Arkansas to joint the Big 12. Or for someone to blow everything up and have them together. I think a consistent Texas, LSU, OU, Ark rivalry would be awesome. Maybe it's because I'm in Dallas, and we have so many fans from all four schools in town.)

Because folks in general like to get pi$$y about anything. On this board they'll bitch if you post to much...like they're paying for board space or something.
They'll also bitch if you post to little, using it as a weird attack if they disagree with you.
But for the most part it's good natured ribbing with what appear to be some pretty decent folks.

This. Gotta have thick skin on this board. The smack talk just bounces off now compared to when I started posting.

Yeah, it can be lord of the flies over there, but we have posters from many schools in the B12, B10, and SEC and everyone gets along. Only naked disrespect or light-speed stupidity will get you crowd-sourced.
You should come on back and give it another try.

I don’t troll; so my answer is above board.
(a) For a university the size of UTex, they have a very anemic online presence of their own, in terms of having a place to hang their hats. Their singular sports website (cookie cutter network sites like Rivals and 24/7 aside) is a lousy place for discussion; so they have to go elsewhere.
(b) What is there to discuss with Iowa State? Kansas? Baylor? Oklahoma State? Kansas State? The horns have little in common with those schools ... and to be blunt: Those teams are boring. Moreover, the fans of those programs aren’t interested in bantering with the horns.
(c) The horns view Oklahoma as their main rival. But the fact of the matter is, they grew up with Ags, live with Ags, work with ‘em, etc., so there’s still a voyeuristic part of them that enjoys following Texas A&M University.
(d) They recognize that the SEC is the premier athletic conference and are curious about SEC goings on.
(e) tSECr moderation is lenient enough that they’re able to get away with their tomfoolery relatively easily.
(f) The horns loathe A&M, and LSU fans are far and away the most outspoken critics of Aggies on this site (which is fine with us—it’s part of the fun). So horns enjoy coming here and living vicariously through the LSU insults of Texas A&M.
(g) Unlike the horn board, which has only about 20 active threads a day (with 29,000 responses per thread—a miserable and almost impossible way to communicate), traffic on this website is steady and consistent, making it relatively easy for non-SEC fans to follow the chatter.

“Raid” is a strong word with a very specific meaning.
Can you offer any examples in which Stanford signed a 4-5 * talent being actively recruited by UGA?

As much as I hate to admit it, Memphis is in the middle of SEC country. Growing up pre-ESPN that was all that was on tv, plus I have family that are Miss State fans and a few UT fans.
On top of that this board is way more entertaining than Memphis or AAC boards.

On a real note, this is the best designed forum for college football.
Having been to a few forums this is the Gospel truth.
There are decent, and even good, team forums out there but this is the gold standard for multiple schools.
Not just for football either. Basketball and baseball get hundreds of threads involving every team in the conference.
When you add in the secondary forums (teams, movies, and so on) this is one of the best forums going today.

No. But I was referring to Georgia the state, not the school that was beaten black and blue by Texas (the university, not the state).
