Tide 102.9 gene interview. "Bama would be a 10 to 12 point favourite over georgia but they don't believe u should be number one. You better believe Saban has used this this week. The committee has said we don't respect you or what you have done. This committee is not impressed. Well, there's only one way to impress them" gene

What a joke. The committee is basing their rankings on resume not reputation. Georgia has a better resume at this point in the season. This is the reason why polls shouldn’t exist until this week. FSU is not the quality win everyone thought it was in the beginning of the year. They got boat raced by Boston college and they can’t run the ball for shite despite the Immense talent they have at RB.
Bama is good and they’ll end up being number one, but the “disrespected” bs is bogus. Disrespected because they’re fricking #2 in the nation?

I love Coach Stallings, but...
The teams are very similar. Holcutt said there was hardly any separation. UGA's resume thus far is better. The committee got it right, at this juncture. Bama was not disrespected, imo.
It might give some players a little motivation, but they don't really need it. They already know they've got to take care of bidness to reach their goal.
Undefeated and in the top 4 of the 1st ranking. No complaints from me. It's the ranking after the CCGs that really matters.
Final top four could be quite different. Some very important football games to be played before then.

#2 ranking is totally meaningless
at this point EXCEPT in one aspect:

I like and respect Gene, but that's BS.
Just because they have them at #2 and not #1? Maybe Georgia is pretty damn good? Maybe they have shown better against better teams?
Alabama may very well be better, but they can only go on what's been shown and proven.
UGA deserves #1...AS OF NOW.

I doubt Saban uses this as motivation. It's a moronic thing to say for many reasons. a) you are putting your motivation on someone else's hands. Had Bama been #1 then what? no need to play hard? b) UGA over ND trumps Bama over FSU, Ranking based on merit is logic. c) Bama was ranked #2 it's not like they are outside the top 20. 1-4 is the same thins this day and age, plus a date with UGA seems to be on deck.
