When the seats are just high school bleachers, it's more comfortable to go ahead and stand the entire game.

Not for the student section. The rest of the arena has cushioned seats with cup holders and armrests, but the student section is literally just the same bleachers you see in a high school gym.
The idea was to keep the students from sitting down and keeping them standing up and involved in the game, which is working, but they got old after a while. Especially when you were used to the student section seats in Beard-Eaves where you could sit right down close to the floor with a cushioned seat with a back.
