Whats the most well-known or personal favorite place to go eat on these campuses? Every college has them. At A&M it's the Dixie Chicken. At LSU it's Walkons or CHimes or whatever their personal preference is.
I am taking my kid through various schools for campus tours and we'd like to see some of the best local haunts.
Already been to Baton Rouge, grew up in La so very familiar with the places there. not as familiar with the three above mentioned campuses and popular eateries around them.
THanks.

Chucks, 5, R Davidson Chophouse for sit down supper
Rama Jama's or city cafe for breakfast
Archibalds for the best food in the county. I know you Texas boys like brisket, but the guys at archibalds can cook a pig as well as anybody in the country. It's a cinder block building and they serve pork and white bread. That's it.
Big bad wolves (located at the houndstooth) BBQ nachos are a must on game day

Could be anywhere close by. We're staying the night and taking a tour next Saturday morning.

I'd also add River to the places already mentioned

I still think Cypress Inn is still good. Nice atmosphere.
For Italian, hit Depalmas.
Mexican, I like Iguana Grill. sort of a unique atmosphere inside.
Japanese, I prefer Hokkaido.
All of these are relatively close to campus.
On the outskirts of town there is Nicks in the Sticks. However, it will be insanely crowded on football weekends, since it is so small inside. But again, a great football like atmosphere, for sure.

For nicer eats in Auburn there are places like Amsterdam and my favorite, Acre.
Hamilton's is pretty good as well.

This is where you want to go. Across the river in Northport.
And see this guy...

I thought i had seen they were retiring last summer? My folks graduated early-mid 70's, so they always took us there when we were in town.

Acre in Auburn is A+ - about as good as anything you'll find in the Atlanta area. The town has changed dramatically since I left in '00 and so has the dining scene. Started following their chef guy on IG and was committed to trying it out. It didn't disappoint.

Ate at Acre a couple weeks ago when I was in Auburn. Very good meal.
What are your all's thoughts on The Depot?

Forgot about The Hound too.
Auburn's dining game for nicer restaurants is actually pretty good.
If you want a really cool experience and don't want to spend a lot of money, Crepe Myrtle cafe is nice for breakfast or brunch. You basically feel like you are teleported into a countryside garden and away from any sort of city and the food is excellent IMO.

Favorite restaurant in Tuscaloosa is Mr. Chens. Archibalds is the best BBQ. Agree with previous poster regarding Cypress Inn. Girlfriend complains everything there is swimming in butter.
If your kid is male, take him to a restaurant on the strip for at least one meal. The food won't be great but the view will be
