Hired an NBA agent, he gone. Smart choice for him.

Yup good for him! It will be interesting to see us without him for a full game.

Gonna be an interesting NIT. Harris/Sills/Joe at the guard position. then Gabe/Chaney start down low?

Does Ethan Henderson get playing time finally? We will be hurting down low.

Understatement here.

so basically you'd do this now because you are getting a loan from the agent? why not just wait 2 weeks for the actual season to be over?

Because there's nothing to play for in the NIT and he wants to get the hell away from Mike Anderson.

He's not nearly an NBA player yet, but they draft on potential now.
He wasn't going to get better here, partly because that I don't think he was motivated to, and partly because of not getting the developmental coaching.
Good luck to him. Maybe he will develop.

Man. I respect the hell out of you guys for seeing it this way. LSU fans crucified Ben Simmons and Greedy Williams for this and I end up arguing with them for days about it. There is no upside or downside for the player really and the games are virtually meaningless for the program. I'm not sure where Gafford is projected to go in the draft, but Simmons and Williams will be used as selling points for recruits for a decade. They've more than repaid their school for the scholarship and benefits they received. I like Gafford's game. Good luck to him as he continues to develop.

I wish him luck. I think he would have benefited from another year, but I'm sure someone will use a pick on him.

This is the offense made famous by teams looking to win on a last second shot. The ones that ensure they get the last shot by burning 8 seconds only to start looking for a shot with 4 seconds left. Good times.

Kid is a beast in the post. I think he can help an NBA team and should go somewhere in the 20s.

Will be rooting for him

Its the right choice for him and his future career. He hasn't really improved that much while here, its not likely the same coaching staff is suddenly going to work wonders with him. Best bet is to get ready for the NBA draft and stay healthy.

Can coaches declare for the NBA, skip the NIT and all subsequent games thereafter? Asking for a friend.

All the draft sites have him as a first round pick FWIW.

I don't see why not. Coaches do it in football all the time before bowl games.
