The three UA system schools of Tuscaloosa, B'ham, Huntsville, now have 30,000 covid tests in for arriving fall students, and infection rate was 0.83%. Those positive students of course will be quarantined until a negative test. FWIW. LINK

They're locking them up in Coleman Coliseum. No one's been in there for years.

if it saves one 90 year old life it's worth shutting down the economy. Don't question this or you're a racist.

24.9 students infected? Why not 25?

I'm not sure the exact reason, but I'm certain that it was racially and politically driven.

The problem is they are testing them 2 weeks before school starts and then they are running around an area that is considered a State hot spot. They are doing the same thing in Auburn.

The last one wasn't as severe as the other 24?

The OP wrote the wrong percentage. It is .83, not .083, so 249 students.

UA leased an apartment building close to campus where they'll be quarantined.

UA to lease furnished apartments to house students in order to isolate others who test positive for COVID-19

Why quarantine until a negative test. According to the CDC if the person is minimally to mildly symptomatic, symptoms have improved and they are afebrile for greater than 24 hours without Tylenol, they are considered non infectious after 10 days and don’t need a negative test. Reason being is that the person can shed dead virus and give positive swab tests without being infectious.

It is .83

Wait!! You posted .083. The link posted .83. Big difference.

I dont think 0.83% or 0.084% is a BIG differnce

24/30,000 versus 249/30,000 feels both like extremely small numbers to me
