have zero natty's when the Rebels haven't been relevant in over 50 years in any sport. They had brief football success beating Bama a couple of years but as we all now know, they had to cheat their pants off for that little success. Was it worth it Rebels?

No, I think it has more to do with us even with you in football the last 25 years. And our womens basketball team playing for 2 nattys recently and our baseball program owning you even more now plus playing for a natty there too. Overall MSU athletics has out paced Ole Miss if you are honest. Even our mens tennis team won the Sec this year.
We never had AD’s who gave one shite about our athletics until Striklin. Since then a lot changed.

We were not ranked #1 in 2018. Our highest ranking was 14 I believe?

I honestly think it was to get that monkey off their back. Miss State had some success vs Alabama but Ole Miss just could not beat Bama on their best day. They had to cheat like crazy to do it but they wanted Bama off their back.
By the way, as much as I despise Freeze for what he did in multiple things, the dude knows how to coach. He really does.
