Fulmer got a buyout for quitting? Don't sound right.

I may be slow to this situation but just read where Fulmer will be paid for the remaining of his contract. That does not sound like someone quitting for retirement reasons-- it sounds like he was shown the door.
I would not be surprised to see Fulmer caught up in this scandal somewhere down the road. Like knowing about it but not reporting.
You don't paid someone for two years that said he wants to retire.

Fat Phil is the least of their worries at this point.

The cynic in me would say that donut-eating blob cut a deal behind the scenes to save his own bacon while all the while sticking a knife into someone else for the same transgressions he was involved in.

I think we have seen this scenario before with Fat Phil...

If this board had the ability to avenge justice on someone that murdered their mothers or phil fulmer this boards members would pick fulmer every single time. Yall have an unhealthy hatred for a guy thats major character flaw is something that in no way, shape, form or fashion even affected you (bama you can be mad, I understand that one). When it comes to hating fulmer the members of this board become Tennessee athletics historians. They know more than our own fans do about the inside work of our AD, BOT and boosters in the early 90s regarding the fulmer/majors situation. Its the strangest thing.

You actually thought he was retiring? Seriously? Everyone who's been paying attention knows that Fulmer was fired. There was no way in hell that the Tennessee chancellor was going to let Fulmer stay in that position and hire the new football coach. He was allowed to retire because he is a Hall of Fame coach with the only national championship at Tennessee in decades. No one loves the University of Tennessee more than Fulmer, and he would absolutely still be in the AD's office if it was up to him.

That’s because he was “fired”. They just couldn’t pin the blatant cheating on him, so they have to pay him.

He knows where all the bodies are buried at Tennessee. They'll be paying him a fortune until they're sure he's senile or dead.

Life is about choices. PF chose wrongly concerning Johnny Majors. He then chose wrong about doing everything he could to put Bama out of business.
Ka will call for payment of wrong done.
Phil’s is a low down bastard and the Vols went along with him.
I will be ok with whatever happens to the Vols and him.

As long as he is buried in a unmarked grave and UT goes out of business.

Exactly what I thought. He may have even hatched the scheme to hand out money in McDonalds bags knowing Pruitt would be the fall guy. That’s what kind of individual that Fulmer is.

Those who saw the TN teams he coached will remember his offense never taking a knee late in a game where they had a big lead, but often trying to run a score up.

The guy’s worm shite.

He is probably getting paid off to be a "snitching" consultant for them.

It's all. And UT pays everyone to leave, so this shouldn't be a surprise.

The last presser comment, that recruiting is doing much better, when asked about the state of the program was classic dough-boy. Whatever character flaws he had he certainly made up for by being intellectually nonexistent.
