He basically said he had individual conversations with each player regarding the Floyd incident and subsequent protests. His players say that was a lie and they are “sitting out until further notice”

Sort of off-topic but did you hear about this Oregon State fb player's tape of him "imitating" a Southern person? He's been dismissed, of course, but damn shite like this truly does get under my skin.

If their coach had some integrity he wouldn't lie about something so basic in a time where many young black kids just want to be heard.
It's an incredibly dumb thing to lie about to the media and he only did it so he'd look good. Good on the players for not standing for that bullshite.
They're not going to sit out the season. Norvell will learn, hopefully listen and do better going forward.

Agreed. Shameful act on Norvell IMO and I don't blame the players for being upset

I don't like it either, but I don't want to see a kids career ruined because he said something stupid. In America, we have the right to be assholes. This kids will now become hardened and hate Southerners and white people even more.
As a medical worker, you don't cure all diseases by killing the patient? Thanks to social media and a 24 hour new cycle we now use the mob mentality of using the most extreme way of solving an issue rather than using the least amount to correct the problem.
I have more of a problem with how Hollywood portrays Southern people than a kid who was raised that way.

Yep. Plus pull the scholarships of these players over a coach lying to the media over his response to civil rights and then try recruiting black players to your school. I'm sure it'll go great.
