There will be some former player coalition five yeas or whatever down the road and sue all these schools that played this fall

Be ready for that. Just knowing the culture we have now, not everybody is going to be happy with the protocols. They will be bitching about something

I think it’s more likely you will see a players coalition that sued any school that cancels football

They will say they didn’t uphold their part of the contract(scholarship), and cancelling the season hurt their future chances of making the Nfl etc

You should be ashamed for what Pittman did to Arkansas that led to the downfall of Arkansas in football! Pittman left Arkansas for more money and didn't care for Arkansas until he was given a job as the HC there.

They are student-athletes, as long as the schools honor the scholarship and provide a free education, they will uphold their end of the deal. Now, no doubt some player will push the envelop and try to milk a school or conference for covid.

Jesus. Norvell and his staff have lied multiple times. Trust can't be too high right now with the players and staff

Florida State did a fantastic job since they let Jimbo walked and allowed him to let FSU to fail to find a good HC. Just like Arkansas when Pittman left Bert and Arkansas to Georgia for more money!

Go talk to your coaches or parents before posting some shite like this. The testing is botchy, and I guarantee Warren Thompson hasn’t followed any protocols and has hung out with buddies and gone places for 5 months.

He also could’ve opted out. So many other ways to handle this than a dramatic IG post while on scholarship.

Dumbest thing I’ve read on this webpage in a while, and I had a conversation with altie the other night.

Schools are upholding scholarships. It’s not just a few schools cancelling, it’s entire conferences and it’s not even 100% certain even the SEC will pull off a season.

Colleges are not obligated to have sports even under normal conditions. No one will waste their money trying to sue for such a dumbass reason.

Those that don't play should get all scholarship privileges revoked.

You do remember that a woman sued McDonalds because she got burned by their coffee when she spilled it on herself, right?

Does it make sense? No. I agree with you there. But all you have to do is look at some of the lawsuits people bring to know his scenario just might happen.

I get what you are saying, though.

Here. Take a look at these:

Dumbest lawsuits

A scholarship is not a contract to get to the NFL and doesn't have to be renewed each year if the student-athlete does not fulfill his obligation. The scholarship is a grant and aide to obtain a college degree, football is the means to which the scholarship was obtained.

The football player would still be on scholarship even if football is not played, in other words, tuition, room and board, meals, books, and medical care, etc would all still be paid for by the University.

Cut them and get players who want to play.

Serious question... are you retarded?

You're mad players were lied to, told to lie by the staff about something which puts their health at risk?

A few FSU wrs are coming out saying staff lied to them about protocol and test results. This will not bode well

I knew this would happen. As soon as a few cases break out, the player on going go from #letusplay to #protectourplayers

They are going to blame coaches and administrators and I expect more than a few law suits.

I remember. She had much more of a case than people suing for cancelled football would.

The McDonalds covfefe case - although infamous - is a little more nuanced than you realize.
