It's surprising, to say the least, that emmert is looking the other way here. I know he still has connections in the btr but he flat refuses to do anything.
2nd, it's more surprising that LSU hasn't canned him after what I heard on the tap. Damn, it doesn't get more damning than that.

Will Wade is a lucky dude. NOBODY cares about any of this right now. You could have photos of him meeting with Don Corleone, and it would be under the radar.
By the time college basketball gets back on the court, everything will have blown over, and there will be a nationwide media effort to pump up the sport returning. It will all be feel-good stories.

Of course. But, saying you can goto jail for discussing robbing a bank or killing someone is just dumb.
Wade is a fricking moron for talking about this on the phone. As far as telling everyone to do what the want, they've been doing that for a long, long time. That's how it got so bad that the FBI got involved. Even then, the judge basically handed out slaps on the wrist. No one seems to care because college athletics makes too much money.

If paying players was illegal in the eyes of the law, there wouldn't be enough evidence of anything to convict Wade of a crime.

You do realize that that is exactly how the FBI and LE catch people, right? You can't plan a bank robbery or terrorist attack on the phone without having folks show up at your door. It most certainly is a crime.
Which is not at all unlike what Wade was discussing on the phone, to the NCAA.
