- 25-1 vs Vanderbilt (28-24 loss to Jay Cutler in 2005, Vols went 5-6)

- 26-0 vs Kentucky

From 2011-2017 Tennessee has gone 8-6 vs Vanderbilt (3-4) and Kentucky (5-2).

I'm not sure there is another stat that more personifies the complete and total fall from grace Tennessee football has had in the last 7-8 years.

And both reams are picked to be better than UT in 2018, right?

Throw in that Georgia, Florida and South Carolina all went through down periods and coaching changes in this time period and they still couldn't capitalize. Butch had a window to reclaim the East and he was a massive failure.

I like the stat they have a losing streak to each of the other 13 SEC schools.

And he even cobbled together some rosters that should have been able to do it.

Yeah, well, we were just finishing up our dissertation for about 25 years. With that distraction out of the way, we could finally think about football again.

You could find all sorts of similar stats from Alabama comparing 1960-1996 to 1997-2007.

Rough periods aren't fun, but they end eventually. Theoretically, at least.

They still lost to both of our 4 win teams.

Didn't I see that they have not beaten a team from the SEC West since 2010? (Yes that includes Ole Miss).

Kentucky's record against UT is still embarrassing. UT hasn't been very good for most of that stretch.

I can understand our futility against Florida a bit more, but that one is kind of stupid as well.
