A lot of #rumblings out there. Seems like a pretty good fit but a step down in some way.s

Not at all. Cincinnati is a great basketball job. Big step up from South Carolina, especially as the rest of the SEC continues to improve

Yea that actually makes some sense.
Cincy is built for his brand of ball too after a decade of Cronin and HuggyBear before that. He seems like a pretty good fit there.

Cronin complained about the support of the administration and the AAC quite a bit over the last few years, even with the arena being redone. Obviously it's probably a stronger brand name in college basketball but there are a lot of advantages to coaching at a school with a lot of resources with not a lot of pressure.

Seems odd that they would take him over Matta, but I guess his back issues are still a problem. Would have expected them to get a guy more familiar with the state.

Frank has been vocal about the athletic department’s lack of support for basketball for awhile now

I believe Martin was an assistant there under Huggy right?

Yep, before he followed him to KSU

And, I love Frank Martin, but I think South Carolina could find somebody else. His resume there includes the great Final Four run, but outside of that there really isn't that much there.
I still think he's a very good coach, but I'm not sure a change wouldn't end up being ok with everybody involved.

Yes and no. It's a good job, but it's not better than South Carolina. Tbh idk who has had it easier out of the two the last few years. Frank also took South Carolina to a final four and Cincinnati hasn't been since '92. I'd be willing to bet USCe pays more.

He has earned a step after the final four. Besides he wants to be on the winning side of the AAC/ACC war.

Why would he Marshall make a lateral move?

Probably because Cronin is so unlikable

Why does this happen every year?
He’s not going anywhere

If he goes, I don't care how much bad press it gets us... I'm going straight for Pitino
