COLUMBIA -- With COVID vaccinations ongoing and the easing of statewide COVID-19 protocols, the available tickets for home baseball games at Founders Park will increase for the remainder of the season.
Capacity for the remaining home baseball games will increase from 1,938 to 3,350. The increase is due to a change in socially distanced seating set up from 6-feet to 3-feet and guidance from campus health officials. The change in seating will increase the percentage of capacity in Founders Park to 50 percent of the fixed chairback seats and bleacher seating. With the new capacity limits, South Carolina will be one of seven Southeastern Conference schools with a baseball capacity of between 40-55 percent.
The new capacity will begin with Thursday's game against Arkansas and continue for the remainder of the season.

Better than nothing. I wished they'd do the same for Olsen, but that won't happen.

I wonder if this still happens if we didn't have #1 Arkansas in town this weekend

Nope. Tanner was probably under intense pressure to do the right thing.

Nice. Hopefully it's enough to make a good atmosphere for the series this weekend.

That is all the capacity right now for you guys? Damn...how are the restrictions across the state?
We spent Christmas in SC and will be back the end of May. End of December we kind of did as normal. Expect the same for a little over a month from now(I hope).

So about the same size as Ole Miss, except y'all don't overstate your attendance numbers by 3,000 people on the reg.

South Carolina is removing some of the state’s last COVID-19 restrictions as Gov. Henry McMaster lifted mandatory limits on mass gatherings and late-night restaurant alcohol sales, effective March 1.
Large gatherings — including sporting events, concerts and festivals — no longer need state approval to make sure they are complying with safety protocols. Still, McMaster asked organizers to limit attendance to 50 percent capacity and call for face coverings.
The University of South Carolina does not anticipate any changes to spring sports events and made no call on fall sports, including football.
“The Athletics Department will continue to review these new recommendations to determine its future plans for the safety of all of its constituents,” USC sports information director Steve Fink said.

it's complete bullshite that USC and the 'decision makers' have yet to open up fully.
McMaster only 'asked' for 50% capacity. there is no ordinance or guideline from DHEC or the Govorner's Office that limits capacity at sporting events in SC. never underestimate City/Local officials to shite up the party, though. I have no idea if Steve Benjamin and the City have 'mandated' anything or not.
