Former Vandy AD David Williams passed away this morning.

LINK He had stepped down a few weeks ago and died suddenly of complications at restaurant this morning.

Same here. Stunned by the timing but not surprised at how quickly he went.

Wow. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Truly admire the job he did at our university. As a law professor and athletic director, he seemed to embody what intercollegiate athletics should be.

I enjoyed his pressers and believed he was a man of great character. Prayers for his family, friends, and Vandy!

One of the most underrated AD's in college sports.

Did a great job at Vandy.

That was my dad back in October.... officially was told to retire due to horrible back damage, and two weeks later passed away the morning he was scheduled to go in for surgery from an accidental overdose in his sleep... it’s horrible to see it and I know what the Williams family is going through, prayers sent up and God be with all of his loved ones, losing both parents by age 23 has taught me that it might get easier day by day but it will never be easy to deal with.
