1971 Kent State had three future CFB hall of fame coaches.

I'm not sure what he accomplished in terms of championships. Pretty sure he never won one in the Big-12 and certainly didn't in the SEC despite two SECCG.

Still, I think we've seen that Pinkel was a pretty damn good coach for Mizzou. He did a great job of keeping them competitive in the SEC. That 2013 team was certainly good enough to have won the Big-12 that year but instead they lost in a valiant shootout to Auburn in the SECCG due to the move.

The fact that Coach O will likely make the hall off one season tells you all you need to know
They let anyone in but somehow Kevin Faulk is still waiting

ranked fourth in NCAA history in all-purpose yards (6,833)

Apparently Faulk missed the cut again

At Power 5 Programs:

Ed Orgeron 1 Conference Title 1 National Title
Les Miles 2 Conference Titles 1 National Title
Gary Pinkel 0 Conference Titles 0 National Titles

I guess Les and O are sure fire fricking Hall of Famers!!!

The requirements to be inducted into the CFB Hall of Fame as a head coach aren't that arduous:

- Must have at least 10 years of head coaching experience (Pinkel had 25 years experience)

- Coached 100 games (Pinkel coached in 304 games)

- Must have a winning percentage of .600 or batter (Pinkel's winning percentage was .633)

All time winningest Coach at two different schools.

3 time conference coach of the year.

7 Bowl wins. 191 total wins. 1 conference title and 9 division titles.

I think people see him as a guy who bloomed in the NFL with the Patriots for some damn reason.

Guess the mediocre Dinardo years in the 90s cast a fog over his individual merit.

So easy to get in as a coach if you just have some longevity.

Pinkel does have a conference title.

Les probably will make it.

Ed doesn’t meet the requirements

He’s not going to anymore than Gene Chizik will.

Gary Pinkel was a head coach for 25 years and won almost 200 games. Longevity matters to the Hall.

Well deserved. Larry Smith deserves some credit for saving the program. I don’t believe GP would’ve gone to COMO without him.

meh - 80% winning percentage requirement seems pretty reasonable

like anything else; it is a business

businesses do better when more people have a reason to patronize them

I have zero problem with this

Obviously for being teammates with Nick Saban at Kent State.

The bar is low for coaches. 10 full seasons, 100 games, and 60%.
Crazy thing is Carroll will never be eligible since he only coached 9 seasons. Same with Erk Russell.
