Only 32 years old. Be careful out there folks.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Officials say former New York Giants offensive lineman Mitch Petrus has died in Arkansas of apparent heat stroke. He was 32. Pulaski County Coroner Gerone Hobbs says Petrus died Thursday night at a North Little Rock hospital. He says Petrus had worked outside all day at his family shop and that his cause of death is listed as heat stroke. Petrus was a University of Arkansas walk-on who played alongside Razorback greats Darren McFadden and Felix Jones and later earned all-Southeastern Conference honors. He was drafted by the Giants in the fifth round in 2010 and had a three-year NFL career, winning a Super Bowl with New York in his second season and playing briefly for the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans the following year.

Condolences to the Arky Family

Just horrible news. 32 really is the prime of your life. You are old enough to have experience in life but young enough that the aches and pains haven't slowed you down.

He was well known as being a great guy. A terrible loss for his friends and family.

Really sucks man, he was a really good guy and a hell of an offensive lineman. Feel really bad for his family.

This heat is no joke. I pulled my son out of Football practice on Wednesday and Thursday. They had them in full pads!

Our district called off any outdoor activities through Sunday. Right now we’re sitting at a 108 heat index.

Walk on fullback to All SEC OL to NFL draft pick. Really charismatic guy. Will be missed.

Anyone know if his weight ballooned a lot after his playing days, like Reggie White's did?

No, not really. Below is a video montage of him from last season. He loved football and covered high school ball for a Little Rock affiliate on Friday nights.
