In 1999 during the pirates tenure as the Oklahoma OC, he decided to test the honesty of the Texas team they were playing in that years red river rivalry.
He created an entire playscript the exact opposite of the real one, and had a player pretend to drop it. Sure enough, a Texas GA picks it up and it makes its way to the booth.
Texas proceeds to fall to a 17-0 deficit before realizing theyd been duped. They would rebound and go on a 38-11 run.
But Mike fricking Leach

He got the idea from Greg Brady.
Seriously, that is straight out of a Brady Bunch episode. Greg and his buddies make a fake playbook for Marsha’s boyfriend to steal.

Operation Mincemeat predated the Brady Bunch by 30 years.
