Don’t be a douche. If a player can’t perform, and there is someone behind him who can, then no shite you bench him. What I’m saying is its lame when a fan who has not made any real commitment to a particular team throws players under the bus in a public, mocking manner like the OP has. I didn’t like it when our fans did it to MA Johnson, or Wilson, and the list goes on, and I don’t take pleasure in seeing others do it either. Go to your room and don’t try to lecture me again.

Yeah...kind of feel bad for Neiko...OP is just saying what most of us are thinking but choose not to say a lot of the times. Not that worried about it though.

The interesting thing about Neiko is that he didn't often "get burned"...he was almost always right there...but had absolutely zero ball skills. But he normally had a REALLY good view of the opposing WR's making catches.

BeerBryant. You analysis is so flawed, I don't even know where to begin. I'll just pick the one I think you are just misinformed on: It became evident a few games into the season that our OL was killing us and we would be better, at that time, immediately, if Christian Westerman and Greg Robinson were starting. Coach Grimes and Chiz butted heads about this and Chiz won...he did not want to burn the redshirts after 5 or so games had passed. We just dealt with what we had. Auburn OL WILL be better next year and even better the following year...when we'll have one JR and the rest underclassmen. You are picking on the wrong position if you want to provide an example of how Auburn sucks or WILL suck. Try D-line...you'll have more success there.

Who would be responsible for such things?

Already forgot about Tubbs? You know he recruited us Drew Cole
Also, Demeatruce McNeal, Robinson Therzie and E Florence got a lot of playing time this year!

:kige:

Dude takes the worst angles in the SEC. That is directly on coaching, and ppl are excited Thigpen is going to be the LBer coach.

So you are celebrating the fact that a guy who could not beat Neiko Thorpe for a job will now be a starter?

There was not open competition. IMO there is (hopefully was) a lot of bias from our coaches. They seem to play whom they like best, not the best player. (see Jake Holland, McNeal, Thopre). Thigpen even said to the papers "Florence makes plays in practice, we need to find a way to get him on the field." That is big from this staff that likes to control the message so much.

What's wrong with Jake Holland at MLB? Didn't he play hurt most of last year? Bad ankles, and a broke wrist, and still played IIRC.

Do you think Holland will lock down the MLB spot this year, now that he's healthy?

He is not very good even when he was healthy. If Holland is not taking a bad angle, then he is being cleared out by a OL or TE. Toro is a much better player than Holland.

Probably. It is not like he has any real competition. His only competition mioght be from a true freshman arriving in August.

Any chance Thigpen was coaching them wrong as he should have been coaching linebackers when he was coaching DBs?
Wishful thinking as it is the off-season

Could be, but I have this wild theory that coaches tend to want to win and play the best players they have. If a guy is starting, its because the guy below him was not as good. Could the guy on the bench end up becoming better? Sure. But when fans trash starters, be careful what you wish for because it usually means his backup is worse, at least in that time and place.

In this case, Florence will likely develop and become a quality player but for whatever reason, whether skill or menatal, Thorpe was a better player than Florence last year.
