According to the other UGA poster, UGA was picked to represent the east in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017. They failed twice to do that. South Carolina was picked twice and failed twice. UF was picked only once, and did fail that year, though they represented the east in 2015 and 2016.

Judging, then, by expectations, UGA and South Carolina failed more often than UF to live up to expectations.

You can try to spin it but thems the facts.

Oops try again

We won in 2010, and was predicted twice

Thats a "delta" of one.

Bad Sonny

Thanks for the correction. Cheers

I still stand by my point.
Singling out uga for the same delta when we have 3 east crowns is not a good point to make.

For the 38th year in a row Georgia has not won a National Championship.

Anyways I was counting this year, we both know you aren’t winning a National Championship this year, you’re Georgia.

Who cares about who the media picks?

I’d much rather go and have the media pick someone else than vice versa.

I'm guessing the number of correct divisional picks is considerably higher

They have picked the West correctly 3 of the last 4 years.... however, also just 3 of the past 8 years.

They have picked the East correctly 2 of the past 8 years.

Not sure what the OP is supposed to prove.

Not trying to prove anything. Just pointing out that expectations for Florida have been relatively low for the better part of a decade.

So another thread by the OP that did not go as he/she planned.

How so? Since 2010, here is how the SEC ranks in terms of exceeding preseason expections... ranked by average number of places a program finishes compared to where it was projected:

+1.00 Missouri
+1.00 Mississippi St
+0.63 Vanderbilt
+0.38 Kentucky
+0.25 Auburn
+0.25 Ole Miss
+0.17 Texas A&M
--------
0.00 Florida
--------
-0.38 S. Carolina
-0.50 Georgia
-0.63 Alabama
-0.63 Arkansas
-0.75 LSU
-0.88 Tennessee

Obviously when you are picked #1 in the preseason, there is no room to exceed expections... hence why Georgia and Alabama are in the bottom half.

So if you are a Gator fan, would you rather be picked 3rd in the East most every year and "meet" expectations by also finishing 3rd? .... or would you rather be like Georgia and be picked #1 in the East most years and have finished 2nd a handful of times?

Not only do the gators not win much anymore, The media doesn’t even expect them to.

Exactly. Even Tennessee has been picked to win the East by the media more recently.

so Florida does better relative to their preseason projection than UGA yet you started a thread to troll Florida? Funny how your own stat backfired your own thread
