Who are your top candidates? Realistic candidates please, no Gruden, or Jimbo. Let's all keep our brains in our noggins. I like Leach, Norvell, or Campbell for the Hogs.

Leach should be your first pick. What I find funny about the Arky fan base is you guys hate Gus, but want Norvell who is from the Gus tree.

I don't hate Gus, truly don't. I'm just afraid of the expectations and the hype falling completely flat. Any other coach that comes in here will have litteraly 1/3 of the pressure Gus will have. I would rather not have a coach that will have a world and a half of pressure on him. Thats it Gus is a good coach, I just don't want him to come back home.......at least for now

Gus immediately divides the fanbase. Couple that with the fact that the success he is having right now, follows 5 straight years of top 10 recruiting classes. That isn't going to happen at Arkansas.

Top group
Fuente
Kiffin
Frost
Petrino
Leach

Next group
Brohm
Taggert
Strong
Norvell

Campbell’s buyout it to much unless he wanted to pay half of it . You should add Gus to your list of names that are not realistic.

Not pointed directly at you. But you know the part of your fan base I am talking about. Gus took a few of your recruits 8 years ago, and they can’t let it go. It is probably why the state of Arkansas produces so many great coaches, and none of them retire there.

Campbell isn’t leaving Iowa State.

Realistic? Taggart, Norvell. Pretty underwhelming but that’s reality.

what's the reasoning? People talk all the time about ceilings. Iowa State's is low, real low. Why would he want to stay?

He’s got very low expectations there. He reportedly tagged Iowa State as his dream job years ago. He’s only been there two years. He beats Iowa next year, they may build a statue for him.

Norvell hype train from the get go.

Most of Arkansas’ fans that don’t like Gus is from either HS days or church reasons. There is some deep seated dislike for him that’d automatically put some people on the fire Gus bus.

Well Bear was a Bama player and it was always his first love. Red Hickey (what a great name, we don't get coaches with names like that anymore) did his business in the NFL. Others clashed with Broyles and until recently that was enough to run you out of the state.

It isn't that folks dislike the style of offense that Gus runs, three quarters of the high school teams in this state run some variant of it, its that quite a few of us have met Gus and he's kind of creepy in person. The man gives off a distinct "it rubs the lotion on its skin" vibe when you talk to him.

He's done a great job at Auburn this season with exception of the meltdown against LSU. The man can win football games, though he will have one or two games a year when something isn't working and he will refuse to abandon it. He can recruit. He has fire in his belly.

Sure, I'd take him as Arkansas head coach, though we won't get him now, but I'd take half the high school coaches in Arkansas over what we just went through.

This is what I am talking about. None of this is true, but you guys make all kinds of shite up about ex coaches. After a while, it is a pattern, and you have to look inward.

Kiffin would be a good coach but I can't deal with him running his cock suckers all the time.

He has a 9 million dollar buyout . With what he has done at Iowa State , Arkansas wouldn’t be that big of a up grade . Plus the only way you would want him is if he agreed to a even bigger buyout with you , After you have to pay his 9 million dollar buyout. He would cost 6 million a year atleast .
