FootballScoop talking with coaches and administrators off-the-record... Good info.

“I think personally it’s the best thing that’s happened to coaches,” said one Division I assistant. “More money flowing in and … I think more on-field spots could come once the SEC and P5 use that autonomy, along with 'scouts' to bring coaching back and still accommodate the recruiting (component). Could bring back all those regional matchups that were lost long ago. I think the top tier pushes to 100-105 scholarships and do away with limits. Kind of like a 90-man roster in NFL. Sign what you need.”
“I think this is critical for the SEC to get right as far as alignment goes,” said an administrator. “Competitive balance is key. Two divisions of eight makes no sense to me. It already takes 10-12 years to have a home-and-home with cross-division opponents. I think four divisions of four makes sense with a nine-game conference schedule. Play all three of your division, and two of four in the other divisions each year. That way, every four years your student-athletes have had an opportunity to have a home-and-home against every team in the conference.”
“Schools where players can earn big money for NIL will be fine. The rich will keep getting richer, with starters at high-profile schools getting upward of $500k from NIL. If all the money goes to the football players, will schools be forced to dump other male non-revenue sports? Football drives everything as you know. You might see two conferences with some Big 12, Big 10, PAC 12 and ACC teams.”

Pods are definitely coming along with 9 conference games.

Most of that sounded like we're moving to minor league football. It's all about money and academics are just a sideshow. Also looks like a lot of minor sports could just be cancelled.

Yep and I am going to be rooting for it to fail.

Why? Because you're scared that Bammer is finally going to lose a recruiting advantage?
Guess that's what happens when a conference only has 1 blue blood. Now you've got 3.

Are you really that stupid. Geez, no wonder people don't like you idiots.
You are not even in the conference and you are acting like a jackwagon.
BTW, your blue blood status fades when you play an SEC schedule year in and year out. You will wish you were in the crappy conference you are trying to get out of.

Your conference record is 52-46 the past 11 years in the freakin Big 12.

Texas is not a Blue Blood. Oklahoma and Alabama are though.

conference record is 52-46 the past 11 years in the weakest conference

Being a blue blood is not about "what have you done lately" it's about historical performance and winning tradition. I know the meaning has gotten warped in the 1 blue blood SEC, but we're here to change that.
LSU, Georgia, Florida, etc can never become blue bloods.

Where do these math challenged people come from?
…”Every four years…” for gods sake, two 8-team divisions, two cross-division games every year… guess what… YOU PLAY EVERY TEAM IN THE CONFERENCE AT LEAST ONCE EVERY FOUR YEARS..
and all teams get an equivalent schedule to determine divisional champions…
And you don’t add yet another level of playoff games for SEC and national honors.
This BS about 4-team pods and incredibly complex scheduling is guaranteed to produce multiple controversies. Oddly, it has been repeated ad nasium . I really don’t understand the level of math stupidity.

I'll take not being a blue blood if it means we keep winning nattys at a pace of 3 every 15 years or so, while dismantling the "blue bloods" along the way

uhh, A&M has beaten LSU 2 of 3 games played since Fisher has been there. Don't buy this lying LSU rhetoric
And for the record Alabama is 9&1 vs LSU the last 10 games
edit: and most folks think that UT lost blueblood status a long time ago

Texas and their two legitimate national championships are nowhere close to blue blood status. No one cares how many times you've beaten Rice and Baylor.

Between the Elite 11, Manning Passing Academy, US Army and Under Armour All American Games, Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game, and others, they are basically Senior Bowls and Combines for high school players.
Seems like the logical next step...
And if that 5* doesn't like the SEC team that drafted him, he can go play JuCo ball for a year.
Look at the recruiting board and don't tell me some NSD where a kid says he wants to enter the SEC draft pool and then having an SEC Draft wouldn't get ratings and subscribers, and that is the driver behind all of this.
