Why does breakfast taste better beginning on Saturdays in September?

Do you sleep in until 7:30 or get up at 6:00am, unable to sleep with the excitement? I get my arse up. I can't sleep on football Saturday mornings.

Do you cook breakfast at home or go out to eat it? If I go out, I try to avoid breakfast places that are doing high school coaches on the radio onsite.

There are some places here in NWA I want to try this season: Flapjacks in Springdale and Susan's in Springdale. Village Inn is decent here. Lucy's Diner bit the dust around here. We need some more breakfast selections.

Is Saturday morning your one time to actually purchase an old fashioned paper newspaper so you can scan the high school scores the old fashioned way while eating breakfast? It is for me.

edit: I wish I lived by a lake or large pond, like literally down from my back yard. I'd get in one hour of fishing before breakfast on Saturdays. I'd get up at 4:45 - that's central time for all you SEC Easterners

Maybe Slackivelli can get us up to speed on NWA breakfast spots

The only good breakfast spots in Arkansas are in NWA

All the Central Arkansas spots and south Arkansas and NEA spots aren't worth a crap.

NWA - best breakfast

For home games? I usually get up at about 7:00 or 7:30. Sometimes I eat at home but alot of times last season I went and got a bagel at Athens Bagel Co. with my girlfriend. It worked pretty well, maybe I will continue that tradition this year.

Absolutely! Everything bagel with light cream cheese, a couple slices of bacon, and a cup of coffee.

And was she embarrassed by that?

Bagels must be an Eastern Division thing.

Be a man. Go to Waffle House and get the All Star with double hash browns.

If you do not get light cream cheese there then you're ordering cream cheese with a bagel as its topping. Light cream cheese there is normal cream cheese everywhere else in the world.

I usually take care of yardwork and any running around during the morning hours and try to be free for the games in the afternoon.
Usually one of those chores is running up to the liquor store for a bottle of bourbon.

Waffle House is a late Saturday night/early Sunday morning meal. Everyone knows that. Trust me I get my fair share of All-star breakfasts.

Well yeah. And I pile on the strawberry or pineapple cream cheese.

But I only get bagels at the beach

I can't remember. If I did the morning before we made your fake bulldogs curl up and quit for sixty minutes at Sanford last year, then I will make sure to do it again.

Typically wake up at 8 am or so. No problem sleeping.

Generally cook a light breakfast. Half a grapefruit, french press coffee and a fruit smoothie with almond butter.

Later in the day I go to the growler shop and get a few growlers filled right before the first game.

I don't really follow high school sports but both of those do sound pretty nice.
