If they start the season. the season ticket holders get no refund if games are canceled after that date. What if they are starting the season knowing full well that it will be canceled shortly after the games began. That way the season ticket holders forfeit their right to get a refund.

I like a good conspiracy, but it's more likely that they keep only a portion of the fees and ask you to consider a donation.

I don't think they want to alienate their fan base with an extremely low revenue year already on the table.

Now college tuition, on the other hand... I can see them sending all of the students home at some point, after the checks clear.
