After 60 years of leading our two-bits cheer, George Edmonson, aka “Mr. Two Bits” has embedded himself as part of the tradition of Florida Football. It’s a sad day to hear he has passed away.

Didn't know what to expect by the title. Sorry Gator nation. 60 years, wow

Just coming to post this. Brutal day for all Gator fans. I think we should get a petition or something going to have his name placed in the Ring of Honor despite not having the requirements needed to be in it. He deserves his name up there.

We had a Mr. Two-bits post on here. Was that him?
Sorry to hear about Mr. two bits (whether it was the poster on here or not) It's never easy to lose an iconic figure for your team.

I don’t know who this gentleman is, nor am I familiar with the tradition; I wish I knew more.
But he clearly meant a great deal to the Florida fans, so I’m very sorry for your loss.
Keep his memory alive and honor him with your future actions.

I remember him back when the old Gator Bowl had the UGA and UF fans divided into fourths instead of in half like they do it today. He came running up next to us doing his cheer and I must admit, it was fun watching him.
The "go Gators!" cheer and everyone singing the tune to "Suwanee River" at the beginning of the 4th qtr...those are nice things I can admit to about the Gators.
He'll be missed.

Wasn't even a Gator alum; I believe he graduated from the Citadel.
Part of the social and cultural fabric that makes college football great.

Shame to hear. Mr Two-Bits was a good man and a real fan. The world was better with him in it.

He was a special guy and his legacy will live on at UF forever. That first home game is going to be a tear jerker.

I'd have no issue with that. At the very least, there needs to be statue put up around the stadium somewhere.
Something like this would look good:

Appreciate all the fans from other teams in here.

During the 31 game streak they announcers had to do a lot of filler and it was usually about Mr Two-bits. So I'm well versed.
He was a great fan and representative for the Florida program.

Hate to hear, hate losing anyone who furthered the traditions of college football.
