Most of us really like Mullen but want to see if he takes the next step this year. He has a roster now. Time to see it come together.
Best players? Pitts is the best TE threat in CFB, our receivers are speedy but only Grimes is really proven to be a complete receiver. RB group is good but not exceptional.
Defense we are pretty deep at most positions. Elam is a stud lockdown corner, safeties are experienced, and front seven is the usual Florida front with plenty of pass rushers. Biggest question to me is our run D.
Ole Miss has the misfortune of installing a new system. So I'd think its sloppy at times. Florida - 38 Ole Miss - 17

Scientologist head coach, wife kisses players on the mouth, trashy fanbase, overhyped 2020 squad, etc.

Offense:
Kyle Pitts TE
Kyle Trask QB
Damian Pierce RB
Stewart Reece OG
Defense:
Mohamoud Diabate LB
Zachary Carter DE
Marco Wilson CB/NB
Kaiir Elam CB
Mullen has done a great job turning around a soft program under the previous coach. This is the year that UF fans have circled as "the year". He needs to beat UGA and win 9 or more regular season games.
There are some things I question him on decisions like Franks over Trask and keeping Greg Knox when he has failed to bring in a UF level RB.
Overall, he is great and has made Gator football fun again.
If UF can tackle (big question mark for every team after Navy vs BYU), UF's defense should shutdown Kiffin's offense that has not had spring ball and a inexperienced QB. Plenty of pass rushers and a great secondary.
Other than the UGA game last year, Trask was great. Pitts might be the best TE in the country. Pierce is an NFL RB. Plenty of talent at WR. UF should score a lot against a new Ole Miss defense.
I worry about the same thing I do every year since 2009. The OL. Especially at Tackle and depth.

This kind of talk is crazy for a program that has been lost in the woods for the last 10 years. We were one of the worst teams in the FBS at running the football last year. We lost a 4 year starter at MLB and the last game he didn't start Kentucky ran for 300+ on us.
So I think the biggest question mark is can we run the ball and can we stop the run. We also have 4 pretty good pass catchers to replace, but we have some good ones left as well. We had eight people catch over 20 passes last year (including the RB) and three return along with Toney, who was hurt part of last season.
So I think we will be pretty good with our passing offense and defense, but the run O and D are our question marks.

Good analysis. I think we will be able to score some. I don’t trust our defense at all. That score seems about right.

This is a legitimate question, I think. But you guys have Pierce and pulled in Lingard by way of transfer, so running the ball should be fixed, I would think, if your OLine comes together.

Florida will be good again this year. The big question is how good? With a 10 game schedule I would think 8-9 wins are in the realm of possibility. LSU losing so many players and then having several key players opt out will help. If I were pressed I would say a 9 game winning season with an outside shot of winning 10. It's just so hard to go undefeated.

One thing not mentioned enough.
Mullen has not had major off the field issues. Seems like he really has done a great job of developing decent character guys here...or paid off the GPD very well

Mullen: I'm happy with the direction, but I'm unhappy with how he has handled Quarterbacks so far. Franks over Trask really worried me, because I noted that Trask was a better Quarterback on 8/7/18 just by watching the Spring Game.
He is a Quarterback guru, a random guy on a message board shouldn't be able to detail how and why the backup is better.
QB: Trask is a pro style-QB, he has slimmed down and has "worked on his running" but I still think he's below average rushing the ball. Good computer, even in his bad games he's pretty reliable and was getting better throughout the year. He's a graduate now, and so is focused completely on football so this should be a good thing.
Emory Jones will get snaps, he's a lot more mobile and a decent enough passer. He could play anywhere between 1 and 15 snaps for the game, depending on how things are going.
RB: Pierce/Lingard are a good 1 - 2. Pierce is a very, very hard runner, sometimes to his detriment but I'm looking forward to him running the ball the majority of the time.
WR/TE: Pitts, Toney, Grimes and possibly some transfers will get some work. Pitts is a freak TE/WR hybrid. Toney is our wildcat/slot receiver, great playmaker and Grimes is going to be our best receiver this year hands down.
OL: Well, they pretty much all came back because they couldn't get any push for run support last year, were decent in pass protection, Trask pretty much worked around how bad they were.
Defense
We got a bunch of great new players, but I think we'll have some problems because most of the players are younger this time around. However, most of them are more talented, and a lot of them got reps last year.
I'm a little worried about running defense, pass defense, I think they'll be very good this season.
9 win season, but it could easily be 10 if our running game actually works. Trask was throwing into almost pure pass defenses last year and performed very well, if we have some balance he could really take off.

The OL was more the issue than the RB. We should be better at OL and thus better at running.
Word out of camp is our #2 back might actually be Nayquan Wright. Apparently he’s been phenomenal.

How this guy still has a job in the SEC is amazing. His last year at Auburn our best WR was a fricking walk-on. Knox does the bare minimum and keeps getting paid. He must be one of those guys that sucks at his job but is a master if kissing his boss' arse. We have all worked with that type of person, so no doubt they exist in the coaching ranks too.

Defense will be very stout. DL and DBs will be championship caliber.
Offense could be very good and balanced or average and one dimensional. Everything hinges on the OL. QB and playmakers are in place.
I think the season ceiling is dependent upon OL.

Nice try Lame Kiffin. Shouldn’t you be in practice right now?

Mullen really loves the running QB, might see that other guy more than u think

I think Zuniga and Greenard the transfer from Louisville will be hugely missed. Greenard was the best player on the team last year.

I hope you are right. I hate to hear stories (no matter from what school) of college football players getting in trouble. I'm a sucker for feel good stories, though.
