It could be an upgrade for Lane assuming he can come in and sort of do what Kirby did with the UGA admin and get them to do some things as a condition for taking the job. He's got the juice to do that. But if the administration won't do that he's probably better off at Ol' Miss.

I don't think anyone else on that list has that kind of pull and I do think the UF administration is holding the program back more than the coach. Others on that list can make them better and maybe in the 12 team and portal era that's enough, but unless someone can rangle the administration I don't see them at the truly elite tier of the sport

It is the SECRANT, if I wanted everyone to agree then I would go on Gatorcountry.

Also, you wouldn't be here obsessed and stressed out over UF like you are.

And if your program was what you think it is….you wouldn’t be here obsessed and stressed over it like you are.

Your HC has to beg students to show up at the games instead of the pumpkin patches and you're here talking as if OM is a superior program.

I do not think you are aware of how very, very bad your program has been for decades.

if lane or drink go to florida they better be looking over their shoulder that yale, with their cfb leading 18 national championships, doesn't swoop in and steal their coach away

If Florida weren't a better job, there would be no smoke about Kiffin even being a candidate.

No one is saying he may consider Arkansas, for instance.

Since joining the SEC, Mizzou has more 10-win seasons (4-2), SEC Championship appearances (2-0), NY6 bowl appearances (2-1), and NY6 bowl wins (2-0) than Tennessee.

I’m happy for you. Those were dark years for the Vols. Suffice to say because Tennessee has a commitment to greatness, the Vols were able to get out of the doldrums and return to the tradition place as a contender. And they were able to do it across the board in sports.

And Florida is an AD hire away from doing so too. Something Mizzou will not do.

I would entertain the UCLA OC, just because if you get the right dude at that young age - Florida would dominate for a decade plus.

Weird, he does not talk about what Tenn has done. With their laughable 13 SEC titles.....

Drink had sufficient power TO GET OUR AD FIRED when they went head to head in Jan of 2024…that was before his 10 win season last year and this 6-1 start.

I’m not exaggerating when I say he may have more influence than the Governor at this point.

So he can leave if he wants, but he will never go to a place with more power.

He will also forever be a top 10 paid coach at Mizzou with bullet proof security. Not bad.

Why is Florida the better job?
Florida is richer. Can pay more for coaches, NIL, facilities, recruiting trips, etc. Florida also continues to get richer due to having a massive and growing alumni base.

Florida also has a much stronger brand, which means more exposure with regards to TV appearances, prime time slots, viewership, etc. It also means more interest from high schools and prospective recruits.

Florida sucks at football, has a meddling booster base, and a history of questionable hirings and firings. Sounds like a career death sentence.
