Florida folk, do you actually like Franks now?

He's been a model citizen at Arkansas. He says all the right things here. He plays on a very likeable team for a very likeable coach.
You also have a Heisman contender now under center. It's OK. Welcome this man back with open arms.

He’s good with me. Great character.
Talent-wise amazing. Just made too many boneheaded decisions in clutch time. And he started chirping at the fans for no good reason.

I’m glad he trimmed that thing on his chin.

I've liked him ever since he helped take our offense from 21 ppg to 35 ppg in one year and went 10-3
Was I happy with his performance in 19 not really expected more of a jump esp vs a bad Miami and Kentucky
Happy he landed on his feet and is enjoying a good yr at Ark. Bet a bunch of teams like tenn and Georgia wouldnt mind him now
I remember a couple of their fans laughing at the thought of going after him
Loved the thought of JT tho lol

Loved? Maybe treated indifferently. Not a fan

Of course we like Franks. We didn’t like some of his play but he was a team leader and model citizen here too. The shush the crowd thing was all he ever did controversial.

I've never understood the love affair with Franks at Florida.
He was a pretty middling, maybe even bad Quarterback for most of his career and took criticism really, really badly. He shushed his own crowd, nearly got into fights with fans in the street (there are several videos of it), when questioned about his mistakes he said "Tom Brady makes 'em too".
He was pretty much a clueless, unaware moron the entire time he was at Florida. Thought he was so much better than he was, pouted all of the time.
"I do dis", talking shite to the camera and embarrassing his got damn self by throwing into triple coverage the very next play. Fighting with people on Twitter when he's the starting QB at an SEC school, being told several times by staff to stay off of social media.
I always hear about this "class act", but he just seemed like a guy that could never control himself. I also hear about how bad we were as fans, but most Gator fans must have been in a coma during the Driskel years:
"By 2014 Mary Driskel wouldn't attend a Florida game without headphones. Whether her son was playing or riding the bench, she didn't want to hear it: the complaining, the disparaging, the rejoicing when he was pushed aside. And so, from the opening kickoff to the final knee, Mary let music drown out the game her son had sat at the top of four years before.
Still, in the back of his mind, Holtz reminds himself: Be gentle. Understand. When Driskel arrived at Louisiana Tech, he needed to be taught, not inundated. "We don't need to jump, yell, scream, holler," Holtz says. Petersen, too, worried about inheriting a player who was beaten down mentally. He can't figure out what Florida did to Driskel, he says, and for a moment, the coordinator's voice trails off. He looks perplexed, because he has been analyzing this game for 25 years and can't, for the life of him, figure out what happened to Driskel—or how it didn't drive him mad. Maybe it did, Petersen says. "Maybe he hides it well."
Driskel had it way worse and handled it so much better. Franks always had the "ah he's just a young guy making his way through the world", but he always came off as a punk to me. Terrible attitude.

The Hush the crowd vs SC was a little unnecessary but harmless.
I personally thought his act vs Miami 2019 really was even more concerning and not needed. He tried to act like Baker Mayfield without the play to back it up. Very immature for sure.
However, it's not like he was a criminal but for sure, immature at that time.
A change of scenery for both parties was needed and I wish him success at Arky.

I have pulled for Franks and Arkansas since he left UF, not this weekend but happy for his success.

Glad he’s doing well on a human level. Don’t know him so I don’t know if I like him.
Love him though like Mullen and Meg. We are to love all God’s children save for Georg1a fans.

That’s probably nail on the head there. Since he’s been here I’ve seen nor heard about any antics ar all.
He’s been what we needed and maybe we have for him too. He’s not the greatest qb we’ve ever had but he’s been pretty darn good and after the last so many years, that is a huge upgrade. Maybe less pressure on him is making a positive difference.
Or maybe he’s just grown up a bit. Who knows but both fanbases seem pretty happy now- at least for the moment- and considering it’s 2020 and it’s been a shitty year and

I believe that is at least part of it. Maybe even a big part. I think he may have been humbled here and perhaps that was a good thing long term.

He was always a hard worker and a team leader. He just wasn't the brightest star in the sky and maybe that has changed and he has matured. I have always appreciated his effort, even when he would make bonehead plays, and I will always root for him to succeed, just not in this game.

I never disliked the kid. I understood he was thrown out there by 2 staffs before he was ready and he still did the best he could despite learning 2 offenses on the fly behind our shaky OL..
He’s a competitor and the team always supported him.
Of course at the end of the day they’re all kids, as a grown man I don’t hate any of them. I remember how I was at 20, if you boo’d Me I’d probably told you to lick my ballsack instead of simply shushing you
I’m still amazed at the pu$$ies in our fanbase melting over this lmao

I don't recall this at all, but if this did happen it says more about our fans than it does Feleipe imo.
