Kind of embarrassing for this to happen just for beating Auburn.

Like Kentucky or Duke, that's worth it.

But Auburn???

It is embarrassing all the way around.

-Half arse court storming
-Auburn has lost 14 in a row in Gainesville
-Not even ranked #1
-Florida still not making the tournament

Not embarrassing at all.
They’re kids!
Let ‘em have fun, before the government attempts to commandeer their lives.
Oh, to be in college again.

IMO, it's another piece of evidence in the case for firing Mike White. The fact that the program has deteriorated this much under his watch that student's are rushing the court for beating Auburn is a strong indictment that change is needed.

Oh I am not hating on them, just laughing at them a little.
Also laughing at our athletic admins. Foley was always the one who pushed the fines for court storming and security was always tight under his watch. They were not prepared for this as our fan base has gotten anemic watching shitty basketball for too long under Mike White, so they were kind of caught off guard.

Also I fully expect to beat Arkansas and then lose to Georgia because that is what Mike White teams do.

Foley did some great things, but his last 3 major hires were poor: Muschamp, MacElwain and White.

Muschamp was a gamble that didn't pay off, but Mac and White just seemed lazy. I think he made those both in 2015 right as he was walking out the door. It would've been better if those hiring decisions could've been postponed until Stricklin fully took over. But, c'est la vie.

Stricklin hasn't exactly been knocking it out of the park on his hires either. Think Napier will play out well, but there's a lot to be desired in his management of other coaches.

He seems to have hit a home run with the women's basketball hire.

Stricklin's main issue has been not firing mediocre-to-bad coaches.

Mullen was a mistake, but he was put into a bad situation with Mac deteriorating seemingly out of nowhere and Chip kelly jerking him around along with Nebraska firing Riley to bring Frost home.

To my knowledge, he never had to make a football coach hire at Miss St, so this was his first time going through that process in less than ideal circumstances. He had to triage and ended up with Mullen. I hated the hire, but truth be told, it could've been worse.

The mistake he made with Mullen was extending his contract and giving him a raise after he went job shopping in the NFL. The first 3 years of Mullen went much better than I thought they were going to, likely because he lucked into Trask (who had help from Pitts and Toney of course).

I do agree, however, that I don't have total faith in Stricklin's ability to manage personnel, based on his track record. But considering the circumstances, it would've been better for him to make his first mistake back in 2015/16 (had Muschamp been able to survive one more year) than have Foley mail it in with a lazy hire and then have Stricklin make his first mistake through trial by fire on a coaching hire out of nowhere in 2017.

I think if he had more time and expectations of having to make a new football HC hire coming in, he might've had done better.

I think it is fair to say his handling of women's basketball has been pretty poor, but he did luck out that Kelly Rae Finley was on staff and has been phenomenal filling in. That said, his handling of Newbauer was awful.

Yeah, it leaves a lot to be desired. I like Stricklin, this is just one area where he doesn't stack up well compared to Foley.

Have you seen Georgia play this year?

Yes.

And Mike White managed to lose to something called "Texas Southern" (who was 0-7) at Gainesville earlier this year. He is more than capable of losing to UGA.

Agree.

He has done better than Foley in terms of building infrastructure and pushing for facilities. But how he's handled coaches thus far has not been as good.

I'll reserve total judgement though until we see how Napier does, and who he hire to replace Mike White. But it's impossible to argue that thus far, he has been lacking there for sure.

They didn't storm the court, they lightly showered it.

The Gators better not ruin our chances of a coaching change this year. Every loss brings us closer to the possibility of rebuilding this mammoth disaster of a basketball program. Do not lose that game.
