I believe it was because he was a cock sucking a-hole who turned his back on us. If I remember correctly.

Florida had a better QB: he punked out when he couldn’t start. But he was a decent QB.

Berlin chose to accept an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida, where he played for coach Steve Spurrier's Florida Gators football team during the 2000 and 2001 seasons. His career as a Florida Gator never panned out, though, as he found himself stuck behind Rex Grossman on the team's depth chart. Given the chance to start the 2002 Orange Bowl because Grossman was benched for violating curfew, Berlin performed adequately. He engineered two scoring drives out of six opportunities in the first 24 minutes, including one touchdown pass and two interceptions. Grossman came in late in the first half and played a brilliant game, solidifying his status as the Gators' starting quarterback for the following season.

He couldn't take competing against a better QB so he wussed out.

I don't begrudge the guy for transferring. Grossman was better. Berlin got the last laugh when he led Miami on a comeback win vs UF after being down 33-10 late in the 3rd quarter. Miami scored the last 28 points.

Thank you Ron Zook.

He led several big comebacks, like against Louisville in 2004 bc he was just more comfortable in that shotgun, hurry up offense from high school and Coker tried to make him into a dropback passer with mediocre results

I remember that. It seemed like it happened really, really quickly.
