Other undesirables are Illinois (Chicago) and Michigan (Detroit) residents one would guess. Guv is placing state troopers on access roads (supposedly) to turn those with those state's tags away. What next, people with Florida tagged vehicles running illegals and immigrants from Louisiana and NY. People worried about whether there will be CFB this fall have much bigger possible issues to be concerned with. What if other states (like Texas) now start doing the same....

Edit to say they can be admitted if they go to a place of self quarantine for 14 days or to jail if they don't co-operate.

Well I come from Muscogee County Georgia with 4 cases in a metro of close to 300K. And those are all on Ft Benning. So people are anchored down here since it's about as clean of this virus as any place. Across he river in Alabama Russell County has ZERO. And Alabama is in good shape, better than Florida so not many are looking to leave their relatively safe environment. Now Lee County (Auburn-Opelika) is up to their necks with upwards of 50 cases. The burg of Opelika which adjoins Auburn is a nasty place.

Don’t blame them. Wouldn’t be surprised to see other states prohibit Louisiana residents From entering their borders. The rest of the southern states should build a wall.

bullshite that they are doing it or bull shite that the reports are out there? I think now the reports have been confirmed. As to what the exact parameters are (there are now reports that a Louisiana native for instance can submit to a 14 day isolation period). But it's pretty plain DeSantis has enacted a control on certain area residents (La.) entering the state or attempting to enter.

Here is the link. Soviet Florida.

LINK

quote:

So far, DeSantis said 3,400 travelers have been screened from New York since that order went into effect. Because of that 14-day self-isolation requirement, he said they are now seeing a major reduction in travel into Florida from those areas where the virus is more prevalent. He said Texas is now "following our lead" and imposing the same kind of measures.

With concern over new visitors to Florida from New Orleans -- another growing epicenter, DeSantis also added New Orleans travelers to the order to self-isolate for 14 days as soon as they enter the state.

He is also adding checkpoints throughout Florida, particularly along I-10 and other "main thoroughfares".

DeSantis is suspending vacation rentals in Florida for the next two weeks. He asked people to stop any kind of large gatherings, even if they are held in private.

If y'all would have stayed the frick home and kept ya cooties to yourself, he wouldn't have done that. But as it is, it's too little too late. What are you coming here for anyway? The beaches are closed, the malls, the restaurants, the state parks. Stay in your own damn state and quit taking hospital beds away from the people that live here and need them.

Before the beaches were closed a week ago, too many of you fricktards were acting like it was free vacation time and coming to Destin and South Walton and buying all the TP at the local Publix while spreading the disease, and partying on the beaches like nothing was wrong. What' wrong with some of you?

Same law going live Saturday at Noon.....

Per Dallas Morning News

Gov. Greg Abbott unveiled an executive order Thursday requiring visitors flying to Texas from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and New Orleans to self-quarantine for 14 days during the coronavirus pandemic.

Department of Public Safety troopers will be dispatched to the perp's quarantine site to ensure you are there. Penalties are incarceration or a financial penalty or both.

The Gov said California and Washington could be next.

Problem ain't just others going in to Florida. It's the dumbasses in Florida not closing their beaches. Then the dumbasses here in Missouri go down to Florida and catch the damn thing in Florida, come back home and now our numbers go up. But hey...ya got some of that spring break money.

The dumbasses from Missouri probably got it from the dumbasses from where ever else, that insisted on congregating as if there were no problem. Those kind of irresponsible idiots is what got the beaches closed down.

A couple of family members were in my place week before last but were responsible enough to enjoy the surf from our own balcony and stay away from crowds.

I don't rent to spring breakers anyway. That they might trash the place isn't worth it.

Almost all beaches are closed... and that is because you fricktards kept coming here, instead of self quarantining. Florida 3rd in population, yet 7th in active coronavirus cases. If we were the problem the numbers would be huge. It's certainly not like Louisiana 25th in population, 9th in coronavirus cases.

There are so many ways folks can get around this crap if they wanted. Flying? Go indirect instead of direct. Driving and renting a car? Many rental cars I’ve had are registered in another state. So a NY traveler may pick up a NH plated rental locally. Would suck to have the reverse & be harassed for having that unlucky badge.

If I were 60+ & living in the NYC area right now, damn straight I would be holing up somewhere else.
