Flips happen every year, that's why recruiting talk in August is dumb.
Hell, even if you land the player, they can leave so recruiting celebrations don't really make sense in my opinion.

Josh Pate can’t say on-air that A&M won’t ever replicate last year’s class because every other SEC school caught up on NIL laws and your school is filled with a bunch of figs in a tumbleweed town in the middle of nowhere, Texas.
The issue for A&M isn’t going to be signing kids, it’s going to be getting kids to stay there for 4 years considering your girls are ugly, the town sucks, your coach is an alcoholic POS, and your fans are the weirdest in the country. I love how Pate opened with “there’s a 90 page thread on TexAgs over a pool party” and you think that’s worth bragging about if I were you I’d be more worried about Alabama, LSU, Florida, Texas, and Georgia taking all of the kids you signed last year than being excited about flipping kids this year

He said A&M will have a top 10 class. Not a bold prediction. If you are outside the top 6-7 classes then it is a failure if you want to compete with Georgia, Alabama, or Ohio State. Just saying.
