Yeah, I agree 100% here. It's amazing how ill-suited the present Gator roster is for the kind of offense the new staff wants to run.

I read somewhere that UF has less players on the roster than post-sanction Southern Cal has.

well to be fair, he hasn't sucked balls in big situations quite like Les has. No huge mistakes, dumb brain farts, etc just yet

Les' team is currently #1 and Les has won a national championship.

Wow...I find it hilarious that people are hating on Urban. You know why Florida doesn't have a good short yardage game? It left when Tebow did. Burton was supposed to be the all-purpose player that Tebow was, but he's obviously not.

No one was complaining when Harvin and Tebow were kicking arse, yet now because of some early struggles, people want to find someone to blame. This kind of struggle happens when you change coaches and schemes and have injuries and shite. It's not really anyone's fault right now. You can't blame Meyer because he won two damn championships. You also can't blame Muschamp until he just decides to flame out in two years.

They didn't hire the wrong coach. Hell, he doesn't have a) over 180lbs right now.

It will take Champ a couple yrs, but he will be fine.

No, Meyer screwed up when he relegated a lot of his tedious duties to other members of the coaching staff.

He became MORE healthy because of it, but became LESS of a HC in the process of doing so. Its not Urban's fault, but many of his decisions last season, and his retiring/un-retiring, then retiring again, left this program screwed up a little...

Too bad UF frowned on oversigning the last few years.

Just got back from the game, and I agree. The biggest problem is the above, not the coaching. Yes, I know all about five star this and that, but I really don't give much of a damn about that when it comes to predicting how good a team will be. Besides, everybody in the top half of the SEC has got enough 4 and 5 star high school recruits that who has the best class seems like pretty much a dick measuring contest for something to do in the off season anyway.

We have an decent QB when he is healthy (and he still isn't - good article on Gator Zone about how much pain he was playing through tonight), an undersized O-line, receivers that can't catch a damn thing, no power running game, no tight end, and running backs who can't do much when they are playing a D that is fast as they are. I mean seriously, who do you lean on in that offense?

Despite the two 4th down TDs allowed, our defense actually isn't bad, but it gets zero help from our offense.

The offensive play calling wasn't perfect, but there were a lot more bad passes and dropped balls than bad calls in my opinion.

Honestly, y'all gave us shite about the team being undisciplined under Meyer, and I think there was a lot of truth to that in the final analysis. I think getting rid of that dead wood and trying to rebuild the team is going to be a much more difficult job than a lot of people think.

Yes. Biggest problem with UF is the overrated recruiting rankings, and recruiting in general. I mean seriously, look at our WR's (except for Debose, and he didn't get targeted once today) and compared them to UGA's.

UGA WR WANTED the ball on those 2 4th down plays. Look at each time a UF receiver was contested by a UGA DB or LB. Each time, no catch.

And for those wondering about the pain Brantley endured, he chose NOT to take a pain killing injection. Here is the article:

I think that's just it. Meyers realized that the offensive system he was using had to have the QB as his power running back. This seems to be the only way this type of offense survives in the SEC. ...And he has Brantley. Not going to happen. So he resigns for "health reasons".

So now Muschamp comes in and he's got an offensive roster loaded with small quick skilled players and an undersized OL without much depth. The only thing you can run is a spread, but your QB won't be able to take the beating.

Frankly I'd spend the rest of the season developing JB at QB. The weak OL means your QB is going to have to be mobile until it improves, and JB is mobile and can throw. Then spend the next few years recruiting to beef up across the board.

No one knows about Muschamp yet. He may not have the demeanor or temperament to be a head coach.

However, Meyer left him a bunch of track stars and overrated recruits.

Wil doesn't run the offense Weiss does and Weiss is a damn good OC. He simply doesn't have a true RB or quality receivers. Brantley was overrated coming out of high school and 4 years of Urban Cryer's spread would kill any drop back QB.

Meyer was overrated. He rode Tebow and especially Harvin to great heights but he had some serious flaws.

This is what is hilarious. Over on Gatorcountry after the Bama game, the Gator fans were crying about that evil Saban and his oversigning or running players off. Now, after getting beat 4 weeks in a row, Gator fans are, "We need to get 7-8 early enrollees and back count them to this year's class" (Oversigning) and "if some of these players don't work out, tell them to hit the highway".

Hypocrisy runs deep in the Swamp.

Wil Muschamp doesn't measure up to being a pimple on Les Miles' arse.

Funny, MIles was 3-3 against the great Urban Meyer who, btw, left Muschamp a steaming turd to clean up.

to be fair Will Muschamp couldn't carry Les Miles' jock strap in a suitcase.
