Absolutely. I remember Texas when Bama was a ducking dumpster fire. Better hope Saban coaches until he’s 100, because that will be the end of Bama football. It’s so odd you think you guys are so indestructible after how awful you were pre saban.

If Texas gets in, they will dominate the SEC within 3-4 years of joining.

Their vote counts the same as vandy's.

We've seen this movie before, Mack Brown won one national championship with all those Texas 5 Stars.

Right… but the SEC was #3 behind PAC 10 and Big 12 back then too…

You think Vandy has as much pull in the SEC as Alabama? There's a pecking order in conferences, even socialist ones like the SEC.
And you're about to invite the richest, douchiest, most amoral, sociopathic, trust fund kid into the club.

This is impossible, man. They will have to learn the hard way. Texas will destroy the SEC when it’s all said and done. Just need to let it self destruct.

Very naive way of thinking.

You overestimate (way overestimate) how much power Texas will have.

You really think Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, LSU, and so on, will listen? You really think Texas will go into those states and pull that many recruits? Why haven't they before?

Texas, as everybody else, will have one vote, and will be laughed out of the room if they try anything.

The SEC does not need Texas, Texas needs the SEC to survive. I doubt even Notre Dame will be independent much longer

They will if they join the SEC! That is the point!. It's not worth the trouble.

LOL.... maybe once or twice, but if the SECCG moves, it would rotate. Even if it made it home in ATT stadium, you really think Texas would have a huge advantage? Have you seen what the SEC does in away stadiums?

Not to mention, most years (maybe ever) Texas would not be in that game. The SEC is not the Big 12.

It will take 20 years, maybe more, but it will happen.

Yep, ncaa sanctions hurt. However before that, Alabama won 7 AP/UPI titles under Coach Bryant. Please tell me all about Texas's 4 titles in its history.

That is probably the funniest statement I have ever heard. Texas and you have no clue what will happen to them. I can see them in 3-4 years leaving with their tail between their legs.

REALLY laughing at you

You have no idea how much you sound like Nebraska when we went from Big 8 to Big 12. Same arguments.
But it looks like TX/OU is coming so we get to find out how this unfolds together!

USC won 2 NC since 1980, Texas won one and Oklahoma won two

Shoot, the SEC won 3 in the 1990's, and 5 in the 2000's

In fact every decade since the SEC was founded (and before) the SEC has won NC in football.

Try again child

What were you saying again

LOL, the SEC is not Texas. Vanderbilt and Texas would be on equal footing, and honestly could scuttle anything Texas wanted.

I feel like your IQ is too low to comprehend how this could harm the league. Texas is the biggest Blue Blood in the history of football. In the most talent rich state. Only thing hurting them is the fact they play in the Big 12 (a league they destroyed). By joining the SEC, they will be able to overcome their previous greedy mistakes and prop their program up on the SEC’s hard earned prestige. You laugh now…. Texas will ruin the SEC…. You homers need to hear this - Florida doesn’t have the power to stop them. LSU doesn’t. UGA doesn’t. Bama doesn’t. Auburn doesn’t.

Nebraska has no true recruiting area to pull top athletes, unlike the vast majority of SEC schools. The comparison is not even close.

This isn’t even the biggest reason that Nebraska fell off a cliff.. When the new league was formed, the Big 12 decided that partial qualifiers were not allowed. This killed Nebraska.

In no way is that relevant to what I said. When the Big 12 formed in the 90s, Nebraska was ripping off national titles like clockwork. And those same arguments were made -- let's rotate the championship game between Dallas and KC. Then it's let's move more and more events and offices to Texas.

I can't tell you exactly what form it will take in the next 10 or 20 years, but those freaks will shove their mosquito mouthparts into the conference and suck out anything useful.
